Brake dust coloured wheels

In the summer I drove a lot of miles in a short time and didn't have the opportunity to clean the car. The bright silver wheels became more and more grey and looked brilliant (except the brake dust made them all matt). I liked it so much that I've bought a spare set of wheels that I want to get painted a nice grey shade (a bit like ac coloured wheels maybe). Has anyone any ideas/pics of suitable shades? I don't want black....I don't want the bright silver...just a nice grey that would look good with the colour of my car.

Suggestions please.
Cheers Neil

Hi Neil

I got one of my wheels refurbished at the wheel specialist, they have branches all over the country, Newcastle or leeds would be your nearest. if you go there you will see the whole range of colours available.
cost about 65-80 per wheel. they matched the colour perfectly.

Sure Miles will be along and post a pic of his 4200 as well. He has had his wheels painted and they look great. Neil, loads of colours out there for you to choose. I would imagine because of the colour of your car a lighter anthracite would be best.

I have noticed this too...when clean my wheels look OK, except for the curbed one, but after a good run it looks like they are made of brushed stainless steel and look so nuch better.

Thanks chaps...I agree a bit lighter would look better with the colour of my car. I love the colour of your wheel with the car Miles, maybe a bit dark for mine. Sounds like getting the wheels painted will cost more than the wheels cost...hey ho.

i would go with a light/medium antracite colour personally-

few examples of the shades below (no light anthracite though) -sorry they are not Masarati wheels but will give you an idea of colour

A Dark Antracite

i think this colour would go well too - Black Chrome with the insides black.

never seen that before, what's the reason for gloss black on the inside, does it highlight the grey from the other side?

the whole wheel is painted gloss black to start then the outer is sprayed with the silver to give it a chrome look, looks very good on spoked wheels. You see them on alot of BMW's these days

Did Tim sell the T350 in the end??

You should are able to say weather you want a light or dark effect with the chrome/shadow
