Hi;
Does anyone here recommend or have experience of an alternative to OEM parts for brake discs and pads for the quattroporte mk6?
Sorry if this has been discussed before but, i am sure that i read somewhere that the discs/pads were a match for Mercedes parts?
Any help appreciated.

As far as I’m aware, and I did look, it’s oem only for discs. Pads can be matched up at your motor factors.

The discs are pretty reasonable but there are 3 different rear types and 2 for the front, drilled and not drilled.

Best to email Scuds with your chassis number and notify them that your discs are drilled or not drilled.

Not sure if they are the same for the Ghibli, but I struggled to find aftermarket.

I need the same too, front discs and pads replacement for QP6. There are discs on Europarts and a lot of options of pads on AutoDoc.

Not sure what to do though.

Dougiedog can you post back on how you get on with 'Scuds'

Thanks

Not needed them yet. Was just trying to get an idea of prices and availability. Let us know how you get on.

Has anyone used TopEuroMachine for parts? @CatmanV2 I think ive seen you oost on a different forum about them?

I don't recall ever using them, they seem to be based in Florida. I used to buy parts in the US (primarily FD and Ultimate Pedals) when I was travelling there every month, but that was about 6 years ago now.

Sorry

Oh that's weird it was on a MaseratiLife forum. No problem. I'm trying to get something sorted shipping wise so we'll see.

Just a quick update.

So in the end I purchased the discs from Eurospares (oem) for the price there wasn't anything else comparable and although I'm sure some of the aftermarket discs are just as good the price difference couldn't be justified.

Pads, I went with some aftermarket ones seem very popular and good reviews by users.

And also purchased the bolts/fixing kit.

All items brought separately and including p&p £524.51 which I thought was pretty good.

Now fitting??

That's a pretty good deal! New discs and pads are one of the simplest jobs you can do on a car...

Yea looks pretty straight forward from what I've looked at tbh.

I've done brakes on a few of my cars. E92 BMW rear brakes were the worst, tiny little wear sensor in the most inaccessible place!

This looks like a walk in the park (he says )
