I agree about transmission lines, by the way. For a good many years, I had a delightful pair of 10 foot transmission lines that could manage a 32foot organ note, so I came to appreciate the real life benefits of transmission line speakers, whose technical benefits had first attracted me. I came with them when Mrs Surrey married me and they survived many anniversaries, but I have to admit they were big, about the size of 4 drawer filing cabinets. The inevitable happened. "Could you not get something smaller?" and I arrived home one day with a nice compact pair of TDL floorstanders, about 1/3 the size, but still a good 4feet tall. In retrospect, I think Mrs Surrey may have had shoebox-size in mind.
The TDLs are flawed, but they never fail to put a smile on my face every time I fire them up. A lot like my Maserati really.
