i think this was an american import and i simply cant believe how many people fall for it, prices hyped up just before and then slashed to give the impression you're getting a bargain

My good lady went to Bicester Village this morning - nightmare! and only “fake bargains. However my son was at a Levi shop on Tuesday evening and by chance, “Black Friday” deal was everything at least 50% off.

Bought nothing , black Friday just passes me by , went to Costco to look for a new coffee machine , Costco was still cheaper than all the black Friday sales

Yeah, it’s ********. Rampant consumerism in the morning and then some existential climate-crisis hand-wringing in the afternoon. Bewildering idiocy.

Apparently,it's CYBER MONDAY. Whoop, whoop.

As @TimR says, endless spam emails, even from 'respectable' companies such as Motorsport magazine.

I'm not falling for it. I'll buy what I need not what they think I might desire.
