Biturbos/number cars/Ghibli IIs for sale

They must have been expensive! Are they LHD or RHD? David Askew can convert LHD to RHD if required, it’s a much more involved process than the simple and adjustment of the Japanese spec lights

They weren’t cheap, but I like my Ghibli. I’ve enjoyed owning it immensely over the past 7 years or so. They’re just ‘different’.

They’re specced for UK roads, but thanks for the tip about David.

Interesting 228, former UK press car - maybe mentioned on here or elsewhere previously?

that car was sold at auction only a few weeks ago for £9200

Potentially a tidy profit then - £9200 seems a good buy

Interesting to note that the Moss Green RHD auto with beige interior hasn't settled with an owner for a while. It was sold at auction via Historics in 2019 for £22,400 then again with Historics in 2021 for £19,810 and now with Collecting Cars, currently at £8,900 with 2 days to go. During that time it's only covered about 1000 miles.

The black Ghibli with the beige interior, manual LHD *** import has 3 days left to run at auction and is only (currently) at 2k. When you read the description it does sound like it could easily swallow 3k to 4k on tidying up jobs. Several niggly things, plus a slight whine at low speed from the diff.
Just over £7k now, wonder what it’ll fetch and whether any members are bidding / have bid?

Yes, interesting to see where it lands tonight! Wonder if Nayf is having a sneaky bid...

I think it'll probably end up going for 10k to 12k. To tidy it up you could throw another 5k plus at it. Hopefully the diff is nothing serious, but that'll probably be keeping the price low. The moss green auto is the tidier and (IMNSHO) better car. I'll be interested to see what that goes for considering what it fetched in 2021 and 2019, don't think it'll hit that now but I could be wrong.

Unsold, but it doesn’t show what the final bid was…..

Looks like I was on the money with an estimate of 10k to 12k. If they really had it for sale at £19995 before the auction, that was wishful thinking.

Now sold £11500

They were asking £19995 for it before it went on Collecting Cars
It showed as unsold for a while after the auction closed. I wonder if they decided to accept the highest bid despite it being below the original reserve? Either way it’s sold, which is good news, wonder if the new owner is on here?

Certainly has kerb appeal....
Sadly, I don’t do autos...so Im out !

I used to think the same until I lived with one for a while and got to know its quirks, now my attitude is have both. Horses for courses.

I've a feeling this time around it won't fetch what it did in 2019 with Historics (£22,400) but it could land between 18k and 20k. Certainly a lovely colour combo with that green and the beige interior.

This car is also doing the rounds again.

@dickyb we've discussed this one before haven't we – is it 'just' a 222 in 4v/Racing warpaint?

It was withdrawn from a Bonhams MPH sale, and has been hit with everything from the Japanese aftermarket tuning manual. Including an anodised pink binnacle, from memory. Can't find it on the Bonhams site

Currently at £12,750 with a few hours to run, so I think it’ll go for around or above £16,500 given the other one made £11,500…….
Reserve just lowered....let’s see!
There has been a number of cars doing the auction rounds that I picked up on recently..
It seems like a grind for way to make a few quid somehow. But as we have seen, there are some optimistic sellers out there....?:alan2:
