Biturbos/number cars/Ghibli IIs for sale

Another nice late Ghibli GT coming up for auction soon:

Belting car that, it’ll be interesting to see if it goes for more than we sold it for retail 3-4 years back; freshly serviced and inspected with belts done. There’s no mention on the listing as to works over the last 3-4 years since we sold it, that’ll be key as whether I’ll be bidding to buy it back. It’s not auctioned til Sept so plenty time for more info and even mechanical work and servicing prior to the sale.

lovely looking example in a stunning colour set. Mileage the same as when you sold it 3/4 years ago which is a bit of a shame to have such a beautiful car for nearly 4 years and not even sparingly use it, but being picky now i guess lol

Coming up for auction shortly
Hmmm! Not sure about that car at all.
It says it a series III (Gandini facelift) car. But it's not had the facelift! Wrong grill, wrong headlights, wrong wheels, no spoiler at the base of the windscreen, etc. Plus the series III cars didn't have chrome around the windows or windscreen, or the chrome door handles. So this looks like an earlier car to me, and certainly not a 1995. I'd say it was built pre 1992.
Unless it's undergone some kind of visual back-date process!

Here's what a series III facelift Spyder more typically looks like:

I've just read that the car came from the Channel Islands. So it won't be a 1995 car. That's just the date it came over to the mainland and was registered here. It's probably from the late 1980's.

Ewan, good points, I don't know my Biturbo's that well but it did look unusual. I was lucky enough to attend a meet with another Spyder, this time a Gandini styled one, hopefully the photos will demonstrate the variances. My one is a 1989 MY but a 1991 registered car.

Liking the pale blue one. I did see a similar one for sale a few years ago in Dorest on AT for a few months... suspect it is the same one.

Back once again…
Auto but surprisingly the white seems to work well

A LHD Maserati in white would look good at our Spanish office. Not sure there are any Maserati specialists in Mallorca though!

The Ghibli looks very nice but as you say, the 420Si will be for sale for a long time at that price (indefinitely I’d say). It’s an almost unknown model in the UK and not particularly sought after in Europe. Despite the claims of being all original, the wheels are incorrect, as are the headlights. The 420 is pre-Gandini facelift era so never got the projector headlamps. In fact none of the domestic market 4 door 2 litre 18v cars did. The facelift wasn’t applied until the introduction the 4.24v/430 4v/2.24v/222 4v and Racing in 1991. A more modern 422 or 418v would be far cheaper and far more desirable, the latter being of interest due to it being the first Maserati model offered with ABS and being very rare with only 77 units built. Despite the condition and low miles I would think that would be a hard sell even at £8-10k unless you found a hard core Biturbo collector who happened to be missing a 420Si from their collection.
