Okay had my Maserati for 6 months, but having bought it very late summer, then winter, then rain, and more rain, I haven't driven it much, then mostly with the family aboard.
Well tonight after a nice day, I took her out alone to meet some mates 20 miles away, and I must confess, I gave her a bit of a spanking...
If you are reading this, and thinking of buying one, just do it!!
The V8 revs so smoothly and cleanly straight to the rev limiter, and the cambiocorsa gear changes are so quick...yes really! I was reading the owners manual this afternoon and noticed it stated the gear changes are quicker when over 5000 rpm at full throttle, and I agree. Thinking about it, I guess this is how the FD drive by wire enhancement works...it fools the shift to think it is over 5000 rpm all the time? So have her in sport mode and change at full throttle above 5,000 rpm. Simples!!
What a super car they are.
I have a pair of Larini rear boxes to fit, I honestly can't imagine what it will sound like at 7,500 rpm, and as for the double de-clutching slowing down at speed!
I do need to sort the suspension out though, hopefully I will secure a set of FD springs at a good price from the US shortly.
Enjoy.

Mike , really good to hear you are enjoying your Maserati...Although I don't have one every time I drive one...(there are some very find owners on here that let me)....It makes me yearn for one....Such an event.

Yes I did really enjoy her, before closing the garage door, she was sat there looking at me, exhaust making those 'hot cracking noises', and I am sure I heard the words "can we do that again soon you naughty boy"!
You do certainly have to make the most of the opportunities, this morning, more rain again:-(

Mine spanks me back........ just like a proper Italian Mistress :D

Mike, you'll love the Larini's, all adds to the experience beautifully. Mine gave a fair bit of resonance around 2.5k at first, but that seems to have settled off now, and actually I like that part of the range the most at 'steady' speeds. I find myself dropping the windows when passing high walls or in built up areas. Shame you leave the sound behind at higher speeds. Think I might start following myself

Can empathize with you re the rain too Mike, been far too much of it in the last 6 months since owning mine too :( as a second car, I don't like it to get wet any more than I do

mike - has made me realise how glad I am that mine will be out of storage in a couple of weeks.

as for the exhaust cooling - mate of mine refers to it as "Tinking". great description.

thanks for the inspiration. come on sunshine.

With a spyder the trade off for the scuttle shake is the fact you can hear it in glorious surround sound. With open pipes, it is the bollox!
