It is a bloody good day out but too much risk of and actual scratches and scuffs from passers by has put me off. The large lady sat on the bonnet of an Alfa having her photo taken was horrific, frankly.

Cool! I'll be there hopefully - was going to take the Maserati this year but as it's a Lancia year should take that! Or maybe the Alfa!!

For those who want to risk scratches and scuffs, what is format of the event? Do you have to pre-register? Are the cars split into marques or car clubs?

On the subject of scratches and scuffs, how does it compare to other events, such as Autoitalia and Piazza Italia etc...? Is the risk much higher.....fat ladies and bonnets aside!!

Been to this event for the last seven years in three Masers and no marks at all.

I do however stay close to the car for most of the day esp when its busy...The damage that has been recorded by a small minority of those who dispaly have been limited (as far as I am aware) to marks from jeans, buckles and handbags as you would get from heavy personal use rather than people cars being keyed etc.

To be honest I worry more about my car on a street in the evening than at the event.

It would be safer if there were fewer cars as they seem to pack more in each year or let in too many gate crashers.

Details of how to attend and how to book will be published on the link in post one soon.

If its a nice day I will come with mine...bjt this event needs a refresh now IMO

Great event - been to all but one I think, and marshalled for many also. I like marshalling as it gives you a real chance to meet and chat with the owners as they arrive and it's great to give something back to the organisers

Probably take the Q4 again

I was one of the poor sods that took the public brunt. I was parked on the end at the junction off two streets. If you can, park in a pack of cars that way the public can't drag their kids, pushchairs, handbags, brollies and whatever other cr@p they happen to be carrying, down the side of your car.

I think Corn street can be the worst for people pushing into cars as it is the main route through the area

It worked really well when we were parking Maserati's and Ferrari's in St Stevens Street, and the public walking around were looking at cars not just walking through Bristol

Problem is if you park people in the smaller streets you get complaints about being sidelined so you can't win

Mav, make sure you order a Car Condom for your 4200...to keep those West Country germs from scratching her:
