Malc, do you have any pictures of her you could share with us...Would love to see her.

Andy,

Will post some - what does one call it - before and today photos ! I wish it was before and after but......today the 75 is under cover and waiting for the cash injection to restore it which the GTA sale was going to fund until a GS with 11K on the clock turned up. What is so incredible is the amount of 75 material on the web. For an ugly duckling so many people liked them and in hindsight what a bizarre first car to have. I did have a 75 TS veloce before the v6 and sold after the front spoiler dropped down on the M42 taking out a front tyre. I had it repaired but never felt quite so confident about it afterwards. My v6 75 cost £7,200 in 1993. I bought it in Cheltenham and he guy had a Lancia Delta Martini 16v for a similar price and he said "well its your choice?"....

A little too like its ill fated Nissan/Alfa collaboration the ARNA........eeeemmmmmmm

P

This is the last Arna 1.5 Ti left in Europe, except for a Swiss version in the Alfa Museum..I restored it a few years ago. Ive turned down lots of really big money offers from Japan.. It needed preserving for the Alfa heritage!

Heres a few pics from the 2011 show at the NEC

I think it was 2011....The restoration costs were on par with the price of a secondhand 3200 Maser at the time, but hey, It had to be done!

Confession time...Dare I say it, I used to own one.

It was a white one and I had the bumpers and mirrors colour coded. It was 3 years old when I bought it in 1988. I was so proud of it too!

I tell you guys, the Arna's were so much better to drive than any of the Italian Alfa Sud derivatives, the doors closed nicely, there was no wind noise, the independent rear suspention system worked great and as the wheelbase was nearly six inches wider than the old Alfasud, it handled miles better!.. the heating/vent system was also top notch Japanise 80's tech!

Anyway back to Masers....Took my old 3200GT on a two hour trip down to Grimaldi's on Saturday morning in torrenital rain for a few bits and pieces...I'll keep you posted!

The vent system.. Haha when I bought mine I drove around for several days with the windows steaming up because I had it on recirc but didn't realise what these 'modern' controls were. I loved those green seats.

I also remember have trouble with the fuse box under the bonnet having bad connections. I crashed it twice. Fond and not so fond memories!
