With my MOT due in a couple of weeks I thought I'd better take a look at my less than effective handbrake.
When I removed the first rear brake disc I found that that the friction material on one of the handbrake shoes was completely detached from the metal backing. On the other side one of the shoes had also begun to separate.
I boxed up the old brake shoes and sent them to Belfast brakes last Saturday. When I called them on Tuesday morning to check that they'd been received Gary confirmed that they had received them and were currently being re-lined and that he'd get them in the post to me that afternoon. All this before I'd actually paid for them. Sure enough they were delivered this morning and I've just re-fitted them on the car.
The work Belfast Brakes have done on my old shoes is excellent and the service was great - and all for the bargain price of £35 including packing and postage.
If you need your handbrake shoes re-lining I'd highly recommend taking advantage of the offer Matt has negotiated with Belfast Brakes - I have no connection with Belfast Brakes but I just thought they deserved a mention for a good job well done.
