Becker SD Card

Just realised that there is a SD card slot in the GS Becker unit - is it a straightforward operation ie. plays mp3/4 music or other files types, will it read a SDHC too?

It was confirmed that a 2GB SD card does work so I bought 2 for £10 at a computer fair today and currently downloading music to give it a blast tomorrow evening.

I used to use it when I had my GranSport. It's not as convenient as the CD interface of course, but my SD card never skipped once!

FWIW, I tried cards with more storage space but they didn't work. (manual says max 2GB, IIRC)

I'd be interested to know if the SD card works.

I deliberately bought an MMC card as this is what is specified in the manual (MMC is the precursor to SD, typically MMC cards work with SD readers, but not necessarily the other way round, so good luck). The manual (or at least my manual) doesn't specify a size, so I bought a 4GB MMC card, however if I stick more than 2GB on it it doesn't seem to pick everything up so a 2GB card is probably money well saved.

Also, you'll need to format the card in FAT (not FAT32) otherwise it won't recognise it.

And 2GB is the limit size of FAT-16...
