Got my email today - full refunds of course but a real pity as I was really looking forward to it.
Not sure if I got a place on the parade lap on the Saturday at Brooklands either -

Found it.

Please note that owners of cars and their passengers selected to run on the track at Mercedes-Benz World will be required to wear crash helmets.

Seems like overkill on that tiny little track - you just get in to 3rd gear, it's skinny and there is no overtaking or passing allowed/possible!

Brunty makes sense, but not MBW.

Totally agree Adam. They need to clarify as otherwise they'll have no cars going round.
On the flip side, if that's the case, those who do have a lid, will have plenty of track time.

Maybe the idiot with the Lambo last year ballsed it up for everyone.

Guys, I'm afraid helmets etc. are, as I understand it, from now on mandatory for all events with public access and the organisers have at the moment no alternative but to respect the law of the land (via their insurers of course).

If anyone is interested go online to http://iopd.org.uk , an organisation who have jumped onto a very clumsy bit of parliamentary legislation designed to curtail public nuisance caused by amateur offroading which now makes anyone involved in or organising a motoring event which does not have the IOPD registration for exclusion under Article 1371 of the Road Traffic Act liable to prosecution!
