My Ask amp has failed again, I took it to Cartronics in Chertsey, but they said the daughter board had gone and could not repair it. I can not find any where in the UK who deals with repairing these Ask Amp units. Does any one know someone that repairs these. Alternatively can you replace these amps with another make? I am told it has to be a specific type of amp because the system does not carry speaker level outputs! I see else where that people have bypassed the amp, but i have not seen this done on a 2002 Spyder. I would be most grateful of any help as i have stripped the boot and a lot of the interior.

Hi I really appreciate your time in responding to my query, my 2002 spyder does not have a separate harness that goes to the amplifier like post 35, it is built into the harness i have followed it all the way from amp connector to the point it runs into the cabin. I have attached a couple of photos to show. Do you know where i can get a link to wiring diagram of the pin outs for the Ask amp ?

I had an issue with my ASK amplifier. I got it repaired at the following place. This chap is more than capable of diagnosing at component level, so almost certainly will be able to fix yours. Excellent service and very inexpensive to fix.

It came back in perfect working order, but to be honest the amp is still pretty rubbish (as is the Auditorium system as a whole!)
Did a bit of research and found that the Focal FPX 4.800 is almost identical in size and fits perfectly in the original mounting position.
Not too difficult to fit with the pinout data. I used the cars loopback loom to make the connection to the new amp so save any permanent change to the cars standard wiring. Difference in sound quality and power is enormous!
Here they are side by side. New amp is fitted to cars original carrier. My car is a Gransport, so its located on the driver side behind the battery in the boot.
