Audio upgrade

Ahh, that old chestnut.
Just digging through some old docs, I see that the NIT has line outs for connecting to an external amp (a la Auditorium 200 I assume)

Does anyone know if they are active?

I would assume they are, they are on normal DIN units you can't switch them on or off.
Are the speaker wires straight into the back of the NIT then at the moment? (If no amp fitted of course)

I think speaker wires do run straight out of the back

Mine certainly do run out of the back of the NIT (well actually from the Parrot, but that's another story)

Just wondering how much ball ache that would be.

Does anyone know if the mute inputs on the NIT are connected? Pretty sure I could wrangle a relay operated mute the same way the Parrot does it, allowing the use of an external amp.

I don't know Catman but should be pretty easy to check, I am running an Alpine Power pack hidden in my console, I used my speaker outputs not that it's on point with what your asking. I didn't even realize I signed up on this forum back in July, I must of been looking for something. I saw I had a friend on your side of the pond and absolutely had to come bother you. Yep first post just to say hi to you! I'm gonna have to get used to the way ya'll talk over here!
