This is a report sent to me by the boss of Stilo, which is based on the outskirts of Bergamo. This is a clear indication of what happens when you don’t respect Covid 19 and act accordingly:

Perfect analysis of what happened in Bergamo.
BERGAMO - A month later, as we prepare to count the living and army trucks take away another 80 coffins, it's time to start asking questions. And above all, to find answers. Why Bergamo? How come a city of 110 thousand inhabitants becomes the lazzaretto of Italy, second in the world, for dead and infections, only in Wuhan? Why did the coronavirus choose this province to open a scary rift and put something like a quarter of the crosses spread in 30 days in Italy? These are the questions that are asking, together with thousands of families, scholars, experts and observers of the "abnormal curve" Bergamo.
The first answer, straight, comes one from Silvio Garattini, Bergamo, president and founder of Mario Negri institute. " Unfortunately, here has been privileged to protect economic activity over health protection - he says -. Yet the Codogno model was known. Why wasn't it also applied to Bergamo, in the outbreak of the Seriana valley that had already started producing an alarming number of infected and deaths? In Codogno they immediately set up the red zone. In Bergamo there was a serious underestimation. Whose responsibility it is not for me to say. But I can say that the failure to close the outbreak of Alzano and Nembro was a detonator ".
Before we try to dissolve the mystery of the red zone, let's see what it entails. In the province of Bergamo, 400 people died in the last week, 88 yesterday. The infections have reached 5.869. No other Italian province has these numbers. But, in relation to the percentage, not even world. More: according to Mayor Gori, the numbers would be 4 times lower than reality (taking into account the many elderly people who died in the house without the buffer being performed). A reliable projection - between official and submerged numbers - leads to an estimate of more than 1000 deaths. Maybe 1.500 (out of 4.825 in the country). So: one out of 4 dead in Italy is Bergamo. Of this viral bomb Raise and Nembro were the triggers.
We are on February 23th. Four days after the Champions Atalanta-Valencia match at San Siro, where 45 thousand fans accelerated the domino effect of coronavirus. At Pesenti Fenaroli hospital in Alzano the first two Bergamaschi cases are investigated. If not both, one definitely stopped by the ER. The reverb of fear that turned on February 21 in the other outbreak, Codogno, prompts the health management to close the hospital. It is supposed to sanify and create a safe zone dedicated to hospitalized for the virus. That's not how it is. Hospital reopens a few hours later. A few days go by and it turns out that several doctors and nurses are positive and symptomatic. Many will get sick: chief, doctors, nurses, stretchers. And of course - it's easy to guess - many of those who have stopped by the hospital. But the most interesting detail is February 12 An inhabitant of Villa di Serio tells Bergamonews that his mother is admitted to Alzano for a heart failure that day. Nine days later he dies.
" It's February 21th. The nurses that day entered the rooms with protective masks of the ones then distributed for the coronavirus. Maybe at the hospital they suspected Covid-19 for a few days ". The burning room is set up in the church of San Lorenzo. " There were a lot of people, hugging each other. For days, despite the number of deaths growing, assembrations and contacts continued ". The two weeks between February 23 and March 8th (when the second Dpcm arrives to stem the contagion). Let's set this time frame. In Alzano and Nembro, and now throughout the Seriana Valley, the days pass and dead and infected increase at record rate. Regional councillor Giulio Gallera asks and requests Rome to set up a red zone. It's done, it's not done. Nothing at all. All open. " Many companies in the area have continuous contacts with China - says Alberto Zucchi, epidemiological service director Ats Bergamo -. The virus in the valley is likely to circulate before Codogno. Since December, maybe. But we didn't know him. A series of pneumonia were charged to flu complications, then we discovered to be Covid-19. They were warning signs ". Companies therefore. The 376 businesses and 3.700 employees. Could they stop? Apparently not.
Meanwhile from Alzano the contagion expands to the province. What's going on? Nothing at all. On February 28 Confindustria Bergamo launched the campaign "Bergamo is running", a video to calm European partners. "The operations of our companies are not contagious", says General Director Paolo Piantoni. In Bergamo on February 28th there are 103 cases: they will grow. But no one cares. Gori - then with honesty will admit underestimation - thinks that social life and precautions can still coexist. Gallera first excludes the red zone, then on March 3th, realizes. Until we beat the fists with Rome: "The decision is in government". The ok will never come. " Once you allow the virus to spread you can't do anything anymore. You can try to stem, but it's hard ", says Garattini. Today the Bergamaschi don't even have a coffin for the dead to cry on. They just count them. Before the military collects them to bring them to cremate in other cities.
