Italian deaths are probably rocketing cos they’ve run out of ventilators....
New cases have no chance of treatment cos they’re already in all use.

"I already know that this is a catastrophic pandemic with appalling consequences"
"therefore it's obvious that I will view almost any Govt response short of total lock-down is woefully inadequate"
"and as there is not total lock-down, clearly the Govt is mis-informed, irresponsible, or deliberately trying to kill us"
"presumably the Govt has been lulled by inaccurate figures"
"by which, I mean, obviously 'wildly optimistic figures', since I already know that...."
(repeat)
For someone criticising others opinions - you really are making Wild suppositions. I actually think the government and NHS are preparing responsibly for this.

I suspect you'll find he's quoting (or at least paraphrasing) Wattie.

FWIW I agree with you. I suspect Mark does as well but I could very well be wrong (on everything)

A little bit of sarcasm in Mark's tone I think

It does make sense to be too prepared rather than not prepared enough. However there does of course need to be balance as being too prepared does have its costs/consequences.

Italy I think will pay the price for their lack of action quick enough.

It is like the back end of the car stepping out. Most react too late with too much input. Reacting with the right amount of input quick enough is an art.

This is only good news if you have been hoarding gold for a while. I rushed out to Tesco yesterday to get some and the shelves were bare! Panic-buying!

Even if you can find some, the prices have gone sky high - bloody scalpers! The government should impose price controls on those people who are taking advantage of others during this time of global emergency. Gold should be rationed and handed out equally.

I am at a retail summit today and tomorrow. 27 entries in total and 6 of them have stayed home due to Coronavirus. Pretty good turnout considering the media hysteria
