A couple of hours ago we were discussing the leak in No10 and now we know @Wanderer is touring Europe with one of those special Dolls.
Rumbled

Actually planning my return to BE/LU for next Sat, LNER to that London, Eurostar to Brussels, SNCB to Arlon. Guess which bit is the most expensive? UK bit!

I found out today that Brussels-Zuid and Brussels-Midi are the same station in two different languages!
So he's trying to change the subject!

:)

A friend of mine is a nurse at Queens Hospital in Romford, in March she went from being a ward nurse to a high dependency (HD) nurse because of all the Covid cases they had. She was back as a ward nurse in September.
On Saturday they moved her back to being a HD nurse. She reckons that it's worse than when she went there in March already.
And they know how to treat Covid better as well!

What's worse, death in the young ?

The average age of death is 83, bankrupting a country because people got ill but most of them got better seems crazy , 70-90 you could live 10 years or 10 minutes and can afford to self isolate until it's over.

Worse as in more severe cases. And not just the old. Her first patient was her sons friend in his 20's.

Knightley, lovely lass - I'd follow her anywhere.

PH

I used to work with Keira Knightley's cousin.
They met for lunch one day and literally the entire male population of the company were loitering in reception whist she was there.

Personally, I think she was too skinny.

Strange isn’t it, want to chop down a 100 year old oak tree and it’s “you can’t do that to something so old it’s criminal, you should be burned at the stake.”

But when it comes to old people dying it’s “Doris has been around since the 1930s might as well cull her now, if we get her to the walk to the cemetery before we off her it’d save some transport costs.”

There is a certain irony of people who work for the NHS being massively overweight. My sister-in-laws aunt also works at Queens, (not on the medical side of things) and she is almost 30 stone!!!!! and she's only about 5ft 5"!!!!
The same could be said for ones who smoke

There's going to be some tough choices in the next few months

If it becomes a choice between treating the elderly and somebody with a young family who do you pick , because it looks like it's heading that way

Hopefully such decisions will not have to be made, the fear of possibly having to make such decisions is what has prompted a lock down in all areas of the UK. (Even though Boris dithered). Of course the government realises the impact on our economy, but most of the world is facing the same “ or a worse” outcome financially. Not having to make such decisions, if there is a glimmer of hope that an alternative exists, even in the short term, is what makes us human.

Pretty tragic init.

On an upbeat side of things, it’s Melbourne Cup today. Wonder what social distancing, if any we’ll have at the event -which will be attended by hundreds.
