Mostly entrepreneurs who started businesses, worked very hard, took huge risks, and were incredibly successful, created millions of jobs and lots of wealth for others on their journeys, and now publicly or privately give a lot to philanthropic causes - controlling where their money goes rather than leaving that to Governments through the tax system. But let’s ignore all the good stuff and knock them down just because many of the relatively unsuccessful and un-wealthy can’t bear to think they weren’t bright/committed/brave/lucky enough to achieve as much themselves

That all sounds great in theory and I like the concept in Utopia. However it doesn't really happen like that in the real world does it.

So none of these companies have taken massive advantages over cheap labour and massive tax concessions all over the world? They ain't the saints you make them out to be I'm afraid in reality.

I would really like it to work out that way.....it just hasn't and doesn't.

We are now in the midst of tax payers constantly paying for the bailouts of companies who need baiiling out due to poor performance or greed. That isn't what I understand or understood capitalism to be.

One way traffic I'm afraid.

Oh here we go. So which of these entrepreneurs are seeking bailouts? And what successful businesses don’t look to reduce production/service costs and take advantage of tax concessions - that is after all what tax concessions are for!

You are kidding right? One word to start with.........Amazon. I'm not even going to waste my breath or time if you support the tax positions of Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google and all of them.

They use, abuse, bleed countries dry then leave for another to do the very same. If you support that, then we are very different people. You would do the same would you? I certainly wouldn't if I were any one of those businesses.

How much wealth does one business or person need? Obscene.

The current system will have to change. Mainstreet is now being culled and will be left devastated by this crisis. Jobs will not return.
They're going to have to tax these "Mega corps/Billionaires" in order to pay the social welfare that's gonna be required by the unemployed in future.

Yes, you get the picture the media wants you to believe about tax. It amazing how people choose to believe the media when it supports their own beliefs but not when it doesn’t.

If Governments want business to pay more tax, it’s easy, they just have to change the tax rules. While it’s legal to claim tax concessions and tax credits companies will do so. Indeed it’s the fiduciary duty of company directors to maximise profits, including my claiming all legal tax credits.

Oh and sorry if I thought Rockits was talking about the entrepreneurs we were talking about from the original post. I should have realised he had wandered off on a tangent.

And that’s all you’ve got, the piece about staff in France? But you agree that the rest of his rant about Amazon was nonsense? Or I look forward to further explanation of how Amazon is using abusing and bleeding a country dry and leaving to do the same to another?

Sure lots of stuff on the net, all of which is always true! And has no headline grabbing bias. So let’s look at that story. So a supplier (one of millions around the world) in Amazon’s supply chain is alleged to have used child labour. So not Amazon at all! But let’s grab a sensationalist headline by pointing the finger at Amazon because nobody will give a **** about a company called Foxconn. DYOR
