Probably just a slip of the keyboard, but PLEASE be careful when quoting figures.
The current death numbers are under 17,000 NOT 300,000:

About 15,000,000 people die in a normal Q1 each year, to put the 17,000 in context.
I said exactly that just below the mis information put up by iainw ...............................WRONG.................16585 deaths so far
This is the updated view...not good reading, the trend continues, confirmed today that UK is at 233 deaths
So looking at today's figures........... with just TWO deaths today then we are starting to lag way behind Italy in the hockey stick curve. 104 deaths in last four days. At the same point (14 days ahead of UK) Italy was 631, we are 337. Almost HALF of them at the same point. Good news.
Does everyone concur?

Looks good so far but let's wait for today's stats at 5pm.
India has approx 1.3 billion so the potential for major problems are huge there. It is also unique in that each state in India is effectively their own mini Govt answerable to New Delhi ultimately. I think that they have recorded 420 odd deaths but who knows. I think they are expecting this to go wild big time and that’s why they have effectively locked down 1.3 billion. Lots of poor and homeless who live on the streets. Not sure how that will work for them.Coronavirus: France deaths hit 1,100 as another 743 die in Italy
Italy continues to be terribly affected by the outbreak, recording its second-highest number of deaths in a day.news.sky.com
Each place of worship / crematorium may interpret the rules of social distancing-differently/ as they see fit as may the funeral director. But there are no government restrictions in place yet, and funerals were specifically excluded from the additional restrictions announced yesterday (nothing new today either).a friend is going to his mother in laws funeral today, no service, no public get together , 12 people only allowed in the crematorium chapel who must be 2m apart , this was what they were told on friday , could be different today
