Apologies + Can I borrow your GT?

Firstly, I apologise to my wife and second to my QP V brethren,

Like many QP V owners I am ever tempted by the GT. I love my QP V and can't see myself getting a Chrysler QP VI. However with all the electric jazz and other reasons I am seriously thinking about a 4.7 GT.

I was looking at renting a GT for a weekend and it's circa 600 quid.

So: simply question would you lend me your 4.7 GT for the weekend for about 350 quid? I would drive about 250 miles in the period and play some very dubious music. Many insurance policies allow for other drives to drive with the owner's consent (although it's often under third part insurance). I thought I'd ask... I am based in SW London (Wimbledon).

If I get a GT my wife will hate me but I can live with some pink house paint and doing more dishes.

Good luck with that , all kinds of insurance implications with renting a car out rather than just letting somebody drive it.

At least if you rent one for £600 you know you're fully covered , just watch the excess though , I bet it's eye watering

What you're looking to do is obviously borrow your mate's GT and then carelessly leave an envelope of cash in the door pocket when you give it back.

Sadly I can't help, but would if I were in the position

^^^ Agree with Catman. Find a trusting member to lend swap cars for the weekend. Buy them a nice Christmas gift.
Have two good friends on my fully comp insurance at cost of £25 (admin fee). Permanently added as it was no extra cost. Really useful for long driving trips, well worth doing for the next Italian Adventure.

* caveat - unless they are a lunatic driving a maserati

that's me out then even if i did have one to lend, i cant get my head round why anyone would lend their pride and joy to anyone, i get a nervous twitch even when my mot guy drives my motors on the ramps

It's terribly rewarding. Mine went to Scotland with a lovely chap so he could propose to his girlfriend.

remember that post and that's a real nice thing you did there, i just couldn't do that, i'm just too anal about my motors.

i would never contemplate in asking a mate to lend me their expensive motor mainly because i would be just too nervous in something going wrong, accident whether at fault or not, malicious damage etc, good way of falling out with your friends i reckon especially if insurance don't pay out.
go hire keeps it nice and simples

Two years ago. Blimey. I still have most of the jolly fine bottle he bought me :)

just too anal about my motors.

Totally get it. I fall more into 'It's a car. A lovely car. A possibly expensive car but, at the end of the day an insured item'

Now if you asked to borrow my swords.....
