All i can say is , your obviously not diving them where they are intended to be driven , basically your looking for a tarmac tractor , and there's plenty out there , if you take Cayenne offroad , i guarantee which one falls apat first , before JLR im sad to say Toyota is now the king for offroad , for capability and reliability, Ive done 100,000 plus rough terrain miles in the last 5 years , only thing the Landcuiser lacks is a bit of comfort seat wise
You're completely right. Used my SUV's as long distance load carriers on road. Most offroad they get with me is on my properties and the occasional field and campsite at Le Mans. Should have mentioned this in my experience, so sorry.

My HSE petrol Velar has been brilliant. Exceeded my expectations but I was careful to spec it properly. Air suspension, adaptive headlights, deployable tow bar, tow assist, extra power points and USB in the back, panoramic sun roof, solar attenuated windscreen, etc.

Ample headroom in the back and doesn’t feel cramped to me. I actually taken mine off-road a couple of times in over a foot of mud on woodland tracks and it’s been superb. Buy one and do the Land Rover off-road school at Eastnor in their Velar.

Thanks for the input, what on Earth is the solar attenuated windscreen?
Oh got any pics?

It’s like reactalite sunglasses. Reduces glare and cabin heat from the sun. I think it also reduces glare from oncoming headlights but not certain.

Nice to see it getting some proper use! Thanks for the exp- that would seem a sensible addition down under.

So, I thought i’d dip my toe in the water to guage the interest on mine
As I’ve found a stonking Velar.

It took less than 4hours for the scammers to show up, text then email.

“Where is it located at the moment? What's your final price? Why are you selling it? Does it need anything to be replaced or repaired? I'm cool with the condition as described on the advert. I work for Fly In Fly Out (FIFO)Mining, Oil and Gas and we are presently in a remote area. We do not have access to a phone at the moment and that's why I contacted you with an internet messaging facility. Regarding the payment, I can pay you through direct bank deposit (EFT), using PayPal instant bank wire transfer service. I will need your Account name, BSB, and Account number. If you are not comfortable with that, you can set up a PayPal account properly at www.PayPal.com.au and I will make the payment through PayPal, this way, all I will need is your PayPal email address.

I have also contacted my courier who will come for pick up and deliver it to my place in Darwin after the whole fund has been cleared into your account. With the issue of my details, transferring the name of ownership and signing of all paperwork will be done by the pickup agent. If you are not comfortable with that, you can cancel the registration and I will buy Unregistered.

Await your reply“

Feck off was my reply.
They’re everywhere.

Absolutely love ours. It’s a d180s plenty fast enough for what it is. It was one of the first ones on the road and has had no electrical gremlins what so ever. It has just had to have a new air con condenser fitted under warranty though. £985 if we would have had to pay for it.

Don’t you know that the **** has fallen out of the used car market due to Covid and the subsequent financial crisis/recession so they are all now pretty much worthless

I trust that is an ironic statement. Most people I know in the car retail business are struggling to buy stock at reasonable prices. Closed auctions cars making close to retail! Check the various auction prices the past 12 months and prices on most things are higher than a year ago, some stuff significantly!

I'm not sure the used car market seems much affected at the moment. I sold my Vantage in a few days and my brother's business is very busy. Lots of other people I know in the used car trade are also busy.

The new car market I would say is very different and massively affected.

I tend to agree -I've noticed lots of low mileage cars coming to market over here.....lots in Victoria surprise surprise. I suspect deals can be done as they're being sold off due to job worries, lockdown etc

The Gold Coast Range Rover dealer has 1 Velar available and is not expecting new stock until after December!

There are so many Australians in financial difficulty that the Australian Govt has allowed them to access their pension schemes. What could possibly go wrong.

Agree. At the moment the three dealers I know cannot get enough good stock. New stock hit the showroom and it's gone. Not sure it will last but definatily not a slow down since the restructions have ended.
