I skipped a few of the little bits that I tried to ignore lol. It has the potential to be a good car with some love , attention and the good old Italian favourite £££. Not a total no hoper just needs to be at the right initial price

It's the poor front and rear end repairs that would make me walk away. May be impossible to fix the rear end alignment. Other items are normal wear and tear for a car of that age that should be used to negotiate the selling price.

Assume this car was sourced from a main dealer they took in px and the owner traded it in rather than shell out for brakes, clutch etc. The benefit of a car like Mark's (Geoff's) is that he wasn't planning on selling so has spent money keeping everything tip top (and assumedly anything else needed for Richard to retail it).

True words, im residing to the fact that if I must have a facelift then realistically were looking above 50K for a decent one , or a very lucky find. I'm now battling in my head why I would go for a facelift and risk the depreciation etc at the 50k mark when I could go with a sorted car like Geoffs or MGTs, stick 10-15k in my pocket and go and enjoy driving one. If Geoffs had carbon id be on the phone to Richard now.
other issue I have is anything I buy will unfortunately have to live outside for the time being, don't think I could do it to a perfect car !! (I can actually hear you all screaming at me now....noooo not outside LOL)

This is true but I live in Essex so land is at a premium to place said garage, some fool built a house that took up all the space on the plot. not really enough room for a second garage (ok so I admit im the fool that built it lol)

They're better off outside than wedged in an airless garage. Don't worry about it. Mine lived outside (also in Essex) for years and only got the hump if I kept it under a cover (even an expensive breathable multi-layered blah blah one) and the damp just didn't clear as quickly as it would have done if left in the fresh air.

In the next year I shall build some kind of car covering construction thing, but will also be using local storage for the most filthy months of the winter when the car won't get used anyway.

I'd still advocate fresh air and breeze. The cover will keep it clean, but unless you have properly low humidity in your garage the car still won't dry fully. This means that condensation will quite happily build up in places you can't see and end up causing electrical gremlins. Like in the interior dome light, for example, which houses all the alarm movement and motion sensors and costs £600 to replace.

Has a breeze! Stevie Wonder obviously fitted the garage, there's about an inch gap under the door! And another access door at the other end which is always being used (my beer fridge is at the other end!).

That's how it would look crammed in my garage. I have the same inch gap under the door also (awaiting putting a floor finish down, one day) Although it would be treated to underfloor heating!
