A great car gathering on the first Friday of the month between April-October (Also New Years Day) at the Royal Oak in Barrington.
It's on a village green and if the weather is good you need to get there before 5pm to get a place as it gets that packed.

I used to regularly go there for Friday lunch time drinks when I worked in Melbourn. Nice pub, right opposite the massive village green.

Is this open to anyone or do you need to register/book? Might pop along one day.

Thanks for flagging this, Nibby. I love Barrington and the Royal Oak, but didn't know about this meet. Will definitely put this in the calendar for August. Hope to see you there.

It’s open to anyone but to get a place on the green you really want to be arriving before 5. There was a chap with a lovely blue Granturismo who said to me he just made it and he had got there at 5.10. Last Friday there was outside coffee stall which got very busy and Mr Whippy and I treated myself to a 99.

Weather still looks a little sketchy, but unless the heavens open I'm planning to swing by later this afternoon. Anyone else going?

That was fun. Weather held and a good turn out. Couple of nice GTs present, but I couldn't see the owners. Got a wave from a QPVI going the other way en route. Happy days!

Glad it was worth it Burf and the weather held.
I got back in my house from work about 5 and the heavens opened so I give it a miss.
September 1 will be the next one I guess and hopefully some settled weather.

I heard there was some very heavy localised rain around yesterday, so we were luck to find a dry path to and from the event. I'm in Portugal for the 1st Sep meet, so will miss that.

Anyone heading to Barrington on Friday? Weather looks good for the last meet of the season. Hoping to bring a QPV, 928 and maybe even a Stag??

Depending on how I feel, perhaps.
Will be in my freshly restored Maserati – a phrase I never thought I'd ever actually say. I'm still nowhere near 100 per cent – my hearing is still affected but I do want to use it before winter stops play and I have to just sit in the garage, pawing it.

Hope you're feeling up to it and you get to enjoy your Maserati in the autumn sunshine. Would be great to see your car there tomorrow.

There’s normally a good gathering of cars on New Year’s Day.
I would check with Royal Oak pub first it’s going ahead. I’ve been the last few New Year’s Day and it’s been a good turnout.

Thanks for the reminder, Nibby. I was intending to go to Barrington tomorrow, but the weather has been so naff I wonder if it will be too wet on the green. Looks fine until 3pm though. Do you know what time it starts?

Not sure Burf, I reckon about 10.30 to 11. Like yourself I wondered with the amount of rain we've had, might be worth confirming with the pub.

Thanks Nibby. Guessing I've left it too late to call the pub as they're probably a little busy to answer the phone now! :) May head down there tomorrow morning and see what's happening.

I’ve got pick something up in Newport Essex first and then will make my way across, hopefully getting there about 11 and see what’s happening.
Might see you tomorrow Burf.
