Yep - there on Saturday only. Infield parking with the Maserati club, just behind the National Paddock.

I'll be there. But, not in my QP. I'll be taking my Hawk as per usual. Hopefully for the last time as I'm selling her. Next year I may have to buy a tie and slum it with the Maserati Owners' Club. :D

The Porsche mob are expecting upwards of 1300 911s. So, I'm making sure that I get to the circuit REALLY early on Saturday morning.

Ties can be wonderful things, especially when paired with a tailor made suit and shirt, and accessories such as watch, cufflinks, glass of iced champagne, chilled lobster....

Agreed, provided it's an appropriate occasion and of my own choosing. Silverstone on a Saturday - errr no.

I'm there on Sunday, looks like a great line-up of races and got a couple of corporate tickets so I'm really looking forward to it!

There were lots of Masers there today in the owners club parking area.....
Cracking Touring bodied Quattroporte estate that I first saw at the Villa d'Este Concorso on lake Como a couple of years ago

Good news, am there tomorrow as a friend passed on a pair of tickets to me. Got an in field pass but to the Lambo area so may just go along in normal car and park in the outside car parks. Feeling a bit rough so may not last the whole day.

I wandered over there yesterday. I may be biased. But my NSX owning friend who accompanied me agreed that the older style series V QP looks much more distinctive that the newly introduced model.

I'll pop over today for another look.

Thanks Elliott - that was my QP5 on the stand yesterday... :) It was pleasing to see it attracting considerably more attention than the new QP6 next to it. Managed to wangle a proper look in the QP6 after all the crowds had left; Maserati had loaned the car, under strict instructions to not allow anyone to sit in it! It's beautifully finished, but somehow lacking in emotion inside. I was also surprised to find the rear seats do not have electrical adjustment (mine do...), and the that centre glovebox is tiny. The remote 'key' for the keyless start is however a work of art; only problem is the size and weight. It's easily double the size of my blue enamel key...

Very comfortable though - more like an S-Class than my QP though. Parked side-by-side, it's easy to see how much larger the new car is. The boot is huge, and the rear leg-room significantly greater.

What I don't understand is why Maserati didn't have a stand at Silverstone. With two new models to sell, surely it was a gift? Aston were there, selling. Porsche were there, selling. A couple of demonstrators and minders to take some names etc would have gone a long way for a company looking to sell 50k units in a year.

Sorry I didn't find you Elliott - we came over to the Stratos stand, but you were nowhere to be seen at the time.

Totally agree. So they had the new QP there (I assume that was from Maserati UK, or was it an early owner on the Mas club stand?) - but no new Ghibli at Silverstone, just before its launch? Instead they park the only petrol one in the country at a golf club in Oxford for the weekend (see separate thread http://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/showthread.php/11048-Invitation-from-Maserati). Seems pretty barmy.

Thanks Andy - could have done without the nasty scratches appearing on the front wing though :(

Looks like a tiger ran its claws across the top.

I'd love the touring - it's a beautiful car, no question.

On second thoughts…re the Maserati lack of presence on Saturday: Maserati had a stand at Goodwood Festival last week didn’t they, and I know stands at both Goodwood and Silverstone cost lots. Their budget isn’t as big as Porsche etc for obvious reasons so I am guessing they couldn’t afford to do both and chose Goodwood as the one with the most “history of the marque” content. Not saying it was the right choice but I can see the logic if that’s so.
