Morning all,

Thinking of driving the kids over to Euro Disney for a short break at the end of August. Anyone been there / driven there? Just wondering the best way to get there as would like to drive straight to the hotel, not sure what parking is like though..

Cheers!

Nope, been to the one in Florida, that was awesome, but I think its much bigger and the whole American experience surprised me. I have heard that the French push to the front of the queues, as its their country and they can do what they like (apparently)

I thought theme parks were to be avoided in July and August.... cause they are usually absoloutley packed, and you can never get on the rides! Certainly thats the case if you were to go to Chessington, Thorpe park or Alton Towers over here.

There you go.... anytime the kids are on holiday, avoid the theme parks like the plauge

Thanks all. It's only for a couple of days and is just before kids go back to school so hopefully not quite as busy. Plus we would stay next to the main entrance and get in early!

I'll give them a call to find out the specifics about parking etc..

Thanks Dave - transport looks pretty good from all hotels.. or 5-10 mins walk to help burn off the many croissants I'll be consuming!

I drove there last November...Easy to get to be honest with parking at the hotels....Best time of year to go is Nov/Dec and it Disney just seems to do the magic of Christmas so well. I've been to the Paris one 3 times and I must say I'm a big kid. It's great as once you are there the outside world just seems to disapear. You sort of live the Disney dream....I now I'm a soppy git........I would say to get the full experience you need to stay in the Disney Hotel...It does cost more but we stayed there in November and wouldn't stay in any other of the hotels and save a bit more to stay there....Expensive but adds to the experience....Plus you are already in the park so not buses to catch or walking to and from the park...

Sounds good - I'm sure we will all enjoy it :)

Also planning to spend the last day in Paris..... so we finish at the Disney Park late Thursday afternoon, then planning to drive towards Paris where I would ideally then like to stay at a good B&B with parking as we are going to explore Paris on the Friday before returning home.

I understand that driving into Paris is generally not advisable! Any recommendations on a good b&b with parking on the outskirts of Paris??

GH...much better to leave car at hotel and take RER in!!

Driving is poor getting into town, then parking very difficult, they use bumpers as bumpers, and terrorise you if you're not used to it!

Yes - leaving the car at the hotel for the night sounds like a plan (assuming they don't mind) and as you say get the RER into Paris, stay at the B&B, explore on the Friday, and then RER back to Disney to collect car :)

Any recommendations for a B&B in Paris near the RER line from Disney? Maybe a question for the Trip Advisor board…

How many of you, why B&B.....options? The RER gets in to Nation, which intersects with the metro....Paris is then your oyster...get a carnet of 10 tickets or two, or a day pass with entry to museums or tourist sites combined......in heaven!

P - just for one night so doesn't need to be anything special - just me and the two kids (11 & 13) so happy to slum it (especially considering we were going camping originally!).. although maybe hotels are a similar price/standard?

Sounds like its easy to get around which is good - just need to find a bed for the night, and then plan where to go in Paris. We are only there for the day so will start early and maybe get the tower out of the way - any thoughts on other things to do/see there? Would like to stay off the tourist track if possible and have a nice lunch somewhere and then explore..

What are your kids into.......scary stuff like catacombs......1 million skulls underground.....or get onto an old submarine exhibit....or?

Thanks P - will have a good look on that site this evening :)

Catacombs and old submarines both sound good!... they like most things as long as they are fed!
