The blocks are probably not interchangeable but it might be possible to fit the crank to the original block. Then you have to contend with block deck height, whether the liners will fit (or just stick with the 4.2 liners and pistons and end up with a 4.5) It’s a bit of a mare, but one day someone might take the plunge and we will find out.

Phil you want me to buy it for you ,and you can pick it when you have time and are freed up
At this moment in time I can't see that i will be getting over in the near future and now I will have to pay duty etc on bringing things over Loz.
Not as easy as things were.

It's been done with a QP , I remember seeing one advertised when I was looking about 5 years ago, 4.2 that'd had a 4.7 engine fitted

Yes, I’m sure that’s true. In this case, it would be both the computers and the mechanical parts that wouldn’t fit without a lot of chin scratching and man in shed action.

And then there was a lot of teeth sucking about whether or not you would get it insured. Pity whoever bought it didn't end of on the forum though

Engines get swapped and modified , someone will insure it.

Like when you put the details into confused/ meerkats etc , some quotes are £300 , some £1500

The £1500 quotes are , you can get in the sea with that pos

I was told insurance is like any commodity, the more you buy the cheaper it gets hence why a specialist broker will get you a better price from the underwriter because they put all their business in the same place
