After a brief spell of contemplating selling I've been sorting of some more stuff on this.
Just done the oil and filter and about to put new discs on the front with performance friction pads in a bit to slightly improve the slightly lack lustre brakes. It has Brembo Calipers and 305mm discs, apparrantly the same setup as original 147 GTA before they increased the disc size etc as people complained.
I'm also going to have the clutch replaced as it feels a little juddery and has a high biting point. With 130K miles I am going to junk the DMF flywheel at the same time and go for a solid flywheel and GTA clutch; the solid flywheel is half the weight of the DMF.
Was tempted to go for a quaife too but the spider isn't the sharpest tool in the box and that's another £1K to spend.
I've also been (modestly) upgrading the sound system as the existing one is terrible. I've fitted a Sony Head unit that has a class D amp, so this means I will get about 43W RMS as opposed to 18W RMS power output.
I'm keeping the stock tweeters in place and fitting some 5.5" Audison bass drivers to the doors, and I've then fitted a 6.5" "Sub" to replace the standard rear speaker between the rear seats.
The original one was a dual voice coil full range speaker, I was able to find a cheap 6.5 4ohm dual voice coil sub and wire it to the existing outputs.
Even better is that the sony head unit allows the rear two channels to be run as a suedo sub, with all the controls.
So all factory wiring and I have a big improvement without too much mucking about; a nice luxury for me and my other half when cruising about, the old head unit didn't have BT etc
That engine continues to amaze! As does how low the car is (almost as low as my TVR) and how **** it is over bumps!!
