In English it’s ‘like’ and ‘yer know’, German ‘genau’ and in Russian it’s ‘vot’ and ‘tipa’...My 10yo son does it with copious overuse of like and basically! Glad to see my money is being well spent on his education! He is a very bright kid but I can't stand this new age speak.
I get moaned at every time I pull him up on each instance of like or basically & for speaking Australian!
Redundant words, for thinking time, very useful when you’re speaking a language other then your own.
