Should I just give up?
I'm always correctly the kids, they watch far to much American shows and YouTube videos.

'Anyways' instead of 'anyway' really annoys me, and recently more people are using the phrase 'reaching out'.

Am I alone?

Nope, when mine started with it, I turned Sky off,
But as you say, we have people who go to USA from work,
They always come back with new buzz words, or miracle processes, which basically means we do the same thing but call it something different....

With the internet, films, tv, travel, the UK English language is certainly getting watered down by US English.
Until very recently I always started an email by 'Dear ...' just like you would writing a letter, but no one ever sent an email to me starting with 'Dear Mike' so I have very reluctantly now fallen in line like everyone else, with a 'Hi'

It’s evolution, it’s inevitable, you should all reach out and embrace it, like?....

What grates on me is using adjectives as adverbs. "I'm doing good" "No, you're doing well!"

Your not alone Mike. I'm currently fighting against over & unnecessary use of 'basically' & 'like' amongst others.

Indeed the ‘So’ to start sentences needles me but it is the new ‘Erm...’ I didn’t think or was an Americanism, I am prepared to accept it it.

The snowflakes over use of ‘like’ is my personal beef.

It use to be the ending sentences with "You Know" but now "Like" is the current annoyance.

Over in Ireland the over use of the word "grand" is amusing rather than annoying, I am sure it must have 30 plus meanings over there

My bad... I hate that term...i answer, 'your bad what?, grammar? '

My mum told me that if anyone started a sentence with 'well' or 'so' then they are lying.

Politicians use ‘Look’ to start the sentence with the point in they are trying to make but they all slither like snakes....

Whenever I ask for anything I always say "please may I have a pint of Stella"
It really grates on me to hear the "younger generation" say "can I get a pint of Stella"
My reaction to this if I was the bar person would be "I don't know, can you?" and simply walk away.
That is Yankism at it's worse!

Rant over.
