I seem to remember the talk at the time (of the slides coming out last June) was the Giulia Quad V6 twin turbo with electric boost. In that case it would be 600BHP at least. The Alfa unit now puts out 510..!

Think is can they remember as they seem to be making it up on the go. Shambolic management of a wonderful brand.

IIRC the Giulia V6 was only mentioned by gossip-mongers not by Maserati. They have said that there will be hybrid and full-electric models but haven't given any more detail than that.

Isn't a hybrid and a PEHV the same thing?
Pretty much but as I understand it the pe bit is plug in which means it'll run on full electric for a short distance. (As oppose to a Prius which doesn't)

My Hybrid Rangie charges the battery while braking, then uses the electric motors to boost the power when needed. But the PEHV version is charged by being plugged into the mains, and the car can run for maybe 30 miles on electricity alone (as compared to mine that would only do 1 mile, at best, on just electricity). So in short, PEHV means you plug it in.

I've had 8 years of plugging my Maser into the wall when I get home. Does that mean it's a PEHV??????????????????????

My order is in and confirmed by Meridien today V6/hybrid in dark grey with black and grey interior or maybe black & tan. They say 2 years plus for first delivery but the demand will be huge especially if the 0-60 is well under 3 secs as suggested. No price yet.

Placing an order for a car not seen yet...a that's brave....but then suppose if you don't like it you could get your deposit back...?...Can't imagine it looking like the original Alfieri as too much time passed surely.

Will it have V8 noises pipe through the speakers?
Packaged right, a four seater Coupe could be the same size as a 4200 but with a much larger boot with no fuel tank in between boot and rear seats. All the batteries would be underneath/engine bay and motors on each corner. Much like that biturbo converted on Wheeler dealers.

Isn't it just a 2 seater?

Correct the Alfieri concept car was designed to be a two seater but I'm saying that a 4-seater coupe could be designed with the same cabin dimensions as the 3200/4200 and still have a decent boot with the deletion of the fuel tank. The batteries could be located under the rear boot floor, where the 4200's transmission is and in the engine space, there's a huge amount of space there. The electric motors driving all four wheels are very small and can fit to the underside next to each wheel.

I had to do a double take then. I thought you meant you were picking up your Alfieri.

Might have to pop down to JCT for a chat at some point.

Spoke with a new Maserati sales man. He was good but didn't know anything over what's already out there..
