Got a letter from my main dealer couple of days ago...
saying that the concept car will be making its UK public debut at the Goodwood festival of Speed, 1 - 3 July.
Will scan and post the letter later if anyone is interested, goes on about performance, style, values, lightweight materials, blah blah...
mid-mounted 1750 TBi 4 cylinder petrol engine with new semi-automatic ALFA TCT twin dry clutch and Alfa DNA dynamic control switch,
max speed over 155mph, kerb weight under 850kg and 0-62mph in under 5 secs, over 200 bhp, givng a power to weight ratio lower than 4kg per bhp.

Nice pipe Chris, looks unused to me!

Can I ask a question about the 4C?
When I first saw it I thought that it is the best looking car for a long time.
The I had this horror thought about the Brera! Could Alfa make the transition this time without losing the soul of the concept?
What changes to the concept will be made? Clearly the interior will change dramatically, and that's no bad thing, but externally?
Please assure me it won't get 'watered-down'?

It won't get watered down. It won't get watered down. It won't get watered down.
Do you feel assured yet ;-))
I was talking to an Alfa sales guy yesterday and the info they are being fed from head office is pretty much what has been published in the press. i.e the exterior will be largely the same, the interior will change, the engine will be the 1750tbi engine, approx 850kg, launch back end of 2012, etc.
I can't wait!

I feel suitably reassured, thanks Chris.
It's going to be something to make every German terribly envious ...and worried.

It will be late everything Italian always is, still I'll take the positives from that though.

They put itback as the 4c ids going to the US...and they don't want it to go there before the new 4 door as they feel it could be too much of a gap between the two models. I hope they don't end up making it appeal to Americans in the way it drives.
