Advice Needed Left hand rear light has now power

I have had an intermittent problem with at least one bulb in the rear left hand light cluster (looking from the back of the car) not working. Had the bulb warning light and one brake light was the issue. Changed bulbs and cleaned connectors etc. Now there is no power showing to the rear light assembly at all. I had bought a SH light in case there was some issue, and connecting that has the same result.
I disconnected the battery and left it for an hour; let the system reboot on ignition etc and same.

Any ideas? I read there is a relay or controller under the passenger side, which may control one side of the lights? I couldn't locate it.

Any views/Advice/suggestions?

Thanking anyone in advance who can assist.

Paul

We have seen similar issues and it was the bulb holders. They get hot, melt a bit and give poor contact.

I assume your used light didn’t have bulb holders?

The bulb holders are individual. What I would do first is take the bulb holder from the corresponding light on the other side and prove that first. If not, your looking at wiring.

You might also want to change the brake pedal switch first they are only a tenner and dual circuit.

Hi
The new unit had bulb holders but there is no power when you connect the new or old light to any lights on the entire unit. I bought the new unit with bulb holders as I think in the past someone has put the wrong type into one brake light.
