Anyone shed any light on why my A/C seems to only work properly every other journey?
When it works itserfect very cold, however it's almost like the fan switch is not cutting in all the time.
Anyone had a similar experiance.?

Could it be the ambient temp sensor? (Do you notice an "E" where the outside temp displays in the gear display?)
I believe that sensor has something to do with the A/C.

You could also try an HVAC unit reset....

With the ignition off, turn the left hand rotary knob to full cold, the middle and right hand rotary knobs to Auto, press the recirc and econ buttons together and whilst still pressed, turn the ignition on. Keep them pressed until the green lights start flashing then release. When the lights stop flashing the reset is complete.

Thanks for that I will try the re-set, I really need to read the manual as the A/C buttons are still a mystery!! I have the one with a bent arrow, (I'm assuming that's the air recirculating button) then the other says ECON which I was thinking maybe turned the AC off for economy?!! But it does work and Last year had a fair bit of work on the A/C done by a main dealer so hopefully just something silly.

Thanks again for the reply

ECON turns off the compressor, so yes 'economy' :D

So if I'm after cool cold air do I need both buttons turned off or just the ECON one?

Just tried the re-set and still nothing when I get back this afternoon I will run through the obvious checks to make sure it's not a fuse etc.. That's gone

Stick it on auto for everything, it should give cold air if you set the cabin temp low enough.

Mine works pretty damned well. I occasionaly mess with the temp, but that's about it.
