4200 Spyder GT thinks it's a cambiocorsa

On start-up after a flat battery my 90th Anniv. spyder GT displayed a number of warning lights and sounded a continuous alarm. The warning lights include EOBD, Airbags, MSP, ICE and a red sign indicating failure of the cambiocorsa gearbox. An F displays above the temperature readout. My mechanic (ex-Maserati) and very familiar with these cars has not seen this before and can only suggest a visit to Maserati to have a factory reset. The problem drains the battery in a day or two so we suspect the engine management system may keep "polling" various devices which aren't there, like a cambiocorsa gearbox. The car if fine to drive but the alarm very annoying. Is anyone aware of this problem and how it may be fixed?

I suspect this will be traced back to a failed tracker battery parasite draining the main battery. Possibly loose terminals on the main battery too.

Good luck.

You have a manual Spyder 90th anniversary edition? I thought they only did them in CC - your car must be rare AF

Yep, 6 speed manual. It has a 90th Anniv. plate on the driver's side saying it is 3/30 but I don't know if this means there were 30 delivered in Australia (I'm in Brisbane) or there were 30 RHD manuals in total. Any clarification would be much appreciated.

Does it look like this with the humps on the "rear deck"? https://www.richardgracecars.co.uk/for-sale/maserati-90th-anniversary-spyder/277

If it is the same could you post some photos of your interior? I'm intrigued to see how Maserati fit in the 4200 shifter into the GS interior.

Edit - I am guessing you may have a different local special in Australia as the plaque in the car shown in the link is xx of 90 cars.

Although both blue on the outside these look like different cars on the inside. Mine is all leather with carbon fibre inserts on doors, carbon fibre steering wheel, roll bars and door frames. No humps.

A few specs on it here.

"2004 Maserati Spyder 90th Anniversary (287 kW / 390 PS / 385 hp) (since September 2004 for Europe special edition) specs review" https://www.automobile-catalog.com/car/2004/1447310/maserati_spyder_90th_anniversary.html

I thought the 90th anniversary was more 4200 with gransport bits than full gransport. Iirc andyk posted the press release blurb about it.

Im assuming the 90th anniversary manual gear box (gt) models would have the nit screen and centre consol lay out of the 4200 spyder to accomodate the gear level but still get the bucket seats and rest of the 90th anniversary goodies.
