Do the facelift 4200 and the GS have the same gearbox? Or is the gearbox of the 4200 still an automatic?

Same gearbox, both manual gearboxes and are operated by paddles. It has an auto mode yet remains a manual box.

Holy smack, I never knew that!!!
I like the gearbox and the looks of the GS, but I am not a big fan of the spacy textile that they have used in many of the Gransports. I am in the market for an upgrade and was looking at the Gransports for sale, but most of them (full leather) are outside my current budget. I will now check the 2005+ 4200 market. :)

Over here you the price difference between the 'Spaceaged Tweed' and full leather is about £2k. Its well worth the extra outlay as you will get it back come time to sell.

Can this be generalised to this extent? What are we talking about here? MSP software? Engine management software? Throttle mapping software? Andy, you have many of the press packs don't you? Don't suppose you have the MY'04/5 4200 pack and the GS pack do you? Would have thought these would give some confirmation, otherwise it's a case of trawling through the ECU part numbers on Eurospares, and they're not necessarily trustworthy, as they re-number the same item when it suites them.

Miles, as I understand it the 2005 4200's had the software update to give them the same shift change speed as the GS.......called ‘sofast 1+’ ......The GS was...a don't quote me...35% quicker than the 4200.....WIth a 2005 I believe its the same....
