4200 GT 'to GranSport spec' £13500 ONO

Hi guys, as discussed, time for her to go. Copying the ad I wrote almost a year ago and was then unable to part with it after the Bristol show!! Happy days... This time it has to go, the DB9 beckons at the end of the month.

70k miles with full service history from Maserati main dealers until 2007-2008. In my ownership (from 57k miles) it has been serviced and developed at Emblem Sports Cars and has had the big expensive 68k service last year, just before Le Mans.
4244cc 90° V8 with 6-spd manual, the last manual car Maserati will ever make.

Blu Nettuno with cuoio tan leather piped beige, black carpets and black leather trim with blue stitching on dash. Air conditioning as standard. Optional equipment: Xenon headlights, cruise control, quilted leather headlining, Skyhook suspension, satnav with full set of discs for Europe, leather cubby holders on back seats, parking sensors, powerfold mirrors. The car was a dealer demo and therefore had every single optional extra added to it. I have deleted the CD autochanger and added an iPod connector - this could be reversed if that's your thing.

Modifications: GranSport front bumper and chrome grille. 19in Kahn RSVs in Mercury grey (nely refurbed) with Goodyear F1s all round. Lowered 15mm at the front, 20mm at the rear. FormulaDynamics springs, Drive by Wire and Power Module ECU. Full geo from Emblem. Chrome wheel nuts, red brake calipers (with new Brembo discs and pads). Fully bespoke exhaust from ProSpeed with high flow sports cats, no centre section and then into Larini back boxes/tailpipes. Sounds incredible as many from the forum will testify! Quieting it down just requires adding the centre section back in, that can be discussed.

It's been the most reliable car I have ever owned, and since the mods easily the fastest. The handling is simply incredible with the springs, ride height, wheels and correct geo. Plus the interaction of a true manual box and clutch control!

Price is £13,500 ONO. Realistically it needs to go by the end of January and I would hate to have to pass it to a dealer. It's at Emblem from Monday having the gearbox linkage replaced (just slackness from 70k miles) so shifts will feel as good as new.

Looking very nice there Lewis, all the best with the new baby, and dont be afraid to bring her along to the next meet, and would love to hear an unbiased write up about how the DB9 and the 4200 compare.

It did have some 2 piece wheels fitted, but they needed spacers and to be honest weren't great quality. I had dinged them a few times and the metal was so soft I could see they weren't going to last. They did me for the few thousand miles through Europe and then Emblem binned them for me!

I got the RSVs via Autoshield and coloured up they looked great - also they were made for the 4200 in particular so the offsets are perfect. They look better in the flesh than the photos...

Lewis, are there any mods to the gearbox or is the change spot on as it's a manual. I know the early 4200's were a bit slow in cc guise.

Provisionally sold subject to clean bill of health at Emblem. Hope the new owner, DickyGrace, gets as much pleasure from it as I did.

Nothing crosses Europe better and then murders the twisties as well :)

At that price Andy , i dont see it as much of a punt , a year or two's worth of extreme masser fun with hardly any further depreciation , a car which is fully sorted , if you were to lose a grand or two its still cheap motoring and fun , good luck Dicky i know you will enjoy
