HI
Peter's just given me a nudge on this (Hi Peter!)
I did have the set up disc, but I lent it out a few months back and didn't get it back :-(
That said, I may still have a sat nav disc in the garage somewhere, I will have to have a look at the weekend.
I will let you know if I find something that may help/

Hi David. That's rather off from the person it was loaned to!!!...if you are still on here get it back to David pronto.

I have a full set of discs covering Europe but not sure if they work when copied...but will try when Im home from tomorrow.

Not sure why all have a downer on the system...mine has guided me around France and Italy many times and I prefer a basic screen above that in many of my weekly rentals from BMW and MB.

Hi David

If you do get the setup disc back could you possibly lend it to me so i can change the language from Italian to English. Im happy to pay the special delivery fees there and back. A copy may well work on mine i think its just the multichanger on mine that rejects burned discs.

Hi
You shouldn't need a set up disc to change the language, as Italian is the default and English is a standard option ()along with French and German I think).
I need to be sitting in the car to write down the sequence of menus to get to the language change but then I can post it up for you.

CDs are irrelevant; just get a loud exhaust and you won't need a CD player. I don't.

I've changed the language in the settings via the hidden menu to English. Its when you confirm the choice it asks for the setup disc. I think it probably because the sat nav wasnt installed on my car from factory. I use my phone sat nav most of the time it would just be nice to have the inbuilt system working as it should. I installed the GPS receiver under the dash vent last year.

...And then Benny arrives in the conversation ;P

I would just like mine to work as it is supposed to . I wont ever use it .. But i like to sell a car with everything working if you know what i mean . I heard from Chris Bassett the screen is very useful for sticking the sucker of a proper sat nav to ;P

I use "Waze" these days . Its very good

I'm trying to use waize but finding it quite unstable. Also can't get the hang f it... Are there any instructions (or is that an outdated practice)

I just open the app and input the address and off we go . Maybe it depends where you are in the country . It s patchy in Cornwall ( but then so are most things) Its still relativaly new . I think you are supposed to tap the icon on the screen if there is an incident to update the database . I know its very popular in France . I like the way it just diverts you around traffice jam s and tell you how many minutes you ve saved . ( even if you do end up pulling off the motor way and driving through a housing estate ;P )

Got to say after someone on here singing its praises I have started to use it.
I am still getting to grips with it but one of the benefits is the more people that use it and press the icon to report a delay the system will then look for an alternative route so others avoid the hot spot.
To be honest not that much of an issue in the Scottish Highlands!! The odd sheep or deer on the road isn't up there with the M25 at rush hour!

Explains why you need the disc, the firmware needs updating for the sat nav I expect with it not been installed at the factory.
Yes it is ****, compared to today's sat nav, but still useful if only to shown the map and where you are.
So worth doing.

Yep royal pia but it seems when it left the factory it had italian and i think German or French installed as language options but not English. Its fine for showing the moving map i just turn the audio off. Its handy for places like brunty where 4g /phone signal isnt great so the phone sat nav is blind for a while.
