4 Wheel Alignment at Grimaldi Engineering

Rob Grimaldi has just installed the latest state-of-the-art 4 wheel alignment equipment and nows offers full geometry setup on site for Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini.

He has chosen highly advanced, brand new equipment, for maximum precision and is therefore able to offer this service for race and track day cars as well as the road going classic tipos.

Rob told me last weekend that customers who use bespoke setups can have multiple settings for each vehicle stored on the system for future reference, comparsion and of course instant recall.

As Eurospares are just 50 metres from Grimaldi Engineering's doorstep, all suspension parts are readily available where needed.

Yes Loz the laser diagnostics are Hunter but this is the advanced model not the basic cooking version that some tyre shops apparently have. Also the ramp Rob has bought to combine this with is a new 4 poster specifically designed for 4 wheel geo setups that includes integrated bearing plates for the front wheels and complete bearing mounted rear surface plates on each side that are over 1 metre long.

It is this attention to accuracy and repeatability that will give Rob the precision he requires - FYI, the systems have adjustable tolerance levels which means much tighter parameters can be applied than originally specified by the vehicle manufacturer. This assumes that the suspension design of the particular model is capable of working within these tighter tolerances of course - Hence the need for a pre-geo suspension check. IIRC and as an example, toe can be set with an accuracy of just 7 thou ie 7/1000 of an inch!!

As for discounting, Rob is already charging far less than main dealers and this latest kit has cost him a small fortune so I very much doubt it - Nothing to stop you calling him however as I could be wrong

Cheers Nigelo, sounds like its the same as H R Owens , which is a brilliant setup , we had an open day there a few months back which was very informative , im sure we can push some new business Roberto's way ,he's certainly one of the foremust trusted indies which many on here reguarly use

Thanks for the heads up, Rob is a top guy and am really pleased to see that he is still investing in equipment.

Are you still in Maserati ownership, how's the car behaving?

No probs Matt - Yes it's been a while due to intense work but I have managed to post ocassionally over the road AND got my Ducati back on the road after 10 years layup. Folks continually moan on here about a 3 year service interval for changing cambelts on 3200s but my Duc is just 2 years with some Desmo 4 valvers requiring an annual change. Ignore this with 2 wheels and it could kill you so you jsut don't

Still have the 3200 going strong - Changed the knock sensors this Spring after one misbehaved on startup. No leaks just old age, like the Owner, I guess!!

Back on topic, Rob is very serious about his equipment and proud as **** with his new kit especially as most main dealers do not even have their own 4 wheel alignment facilities. He could get reasonable results before but decided to bite the bullet and go the full distance to get the most out of "his" cars.
