Hi all,

Newbie on the forum here. I have recently picked up an 01 manual 3200 and just in the process of giving her a going over and fixing/updating a few little niggles.
Now this is my first foray into Italian sport car ownership so all rather exciting!
So far the dash error light has come on and have narrowed this down to the usual actuator valve issue. Also while the aircon pumps out good cold air - the heating seems to be on the blink. Not a trainsmash at the moment but i am a little fastidious and want to get everything all sorted.
I am london based and wondering if anyone here could recommend anywhere/anyone in the surrounding counties to do the work and use for servicing in the future?

Any advice will be greatly appreaciated!

Cheers,
Waz

May be worth going outside London rather than paying top London prices.

There is a list of Indipendant specialist on here if you do a search

Which part of London are you in? I've used Bill McGraths to service my cars, over the years. They're based in Kimpton, near Harpenden.

Hi and welcome

See here for a proven repair service for the actuator: http://www.captainzcnc.com They are in the states but well worth a week or so's wait.

This will throw up the ERROR light and not the engine icon. All ERROR lights relate to the suspension. Whilst you have the actuator off, if it rattles its broken. Also this could have happened due to a frozen shock absorber which is quite common. Make sure you can turn the tiny gear on top of the shock that the actuator sits on will turn half to a quarter of a turn in each direction.

As for servicing, Emblem are your nearest forum approved sponsor down in Poole but well worth the trip. We also have Giallo down in Kent and Autosheild up in Manchester and Shiltech in Leictershire, all highly recommended and look after forum members extremely well.

Can you show us a pic or give us the plate, we might already know the car.

Oh, and a great choice sir....I assume you have taken the normal Maserati position of dropping the drivers window an inch and smirking uncontrollable every time the exhaust growls.

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the quick responses! Very much appreciated.

Pics to follow shortly but plate is Y326 HPD - was previously owned by a chap called Dan up Bristol way. (has had a few custom plates on her in the past from the looks of things too)

Oh and yes, that growl is addictive! much to my neighbours dismay when she's warming up or cooling down after a drive. Oh that and a down shift when coming into tunnels. Or at the lights... yes she purrs!!

Welcome Warren, you will be at home on this forum :)

Bill McGrath tend to specialise in the old MAserati's so I didn't want to take mine to them. I went to the Maserati Shed and what Mike Roberts doesn't know about the 3200 (and all other era Trident's) isn't worth knowing. Based down Fareham way and well worth a look with very reasonable prices. If you saw Wheeler Dealers he was the throttle body repair man.

I put good money on it that your Engine light is related to the Drive By Wire system....

Contigo. McGraths boss owns a yellow QP V. They have facilities for all models. They've looked after both my 2005 4200CC and my 2006 QP.

Indeed, they've had the QP V diagnostic software for months now.

Cheers all, very much appreciated the advice and the warm
Welcome!

I'm based in SW London although happy to travel to give business to specialists with knowledge.

Had to say, not that I'd take my pride and joy to joe macari, but was driving past today and there are some very pretty toys in there. And some scary numbers too! Ha

Maserati Shed (Mike Roberts) is well recommended on here and a more cost effective option.
Emblem are on the higher side price wise of indies but seem to be extremely well respected.
Maranello are another dealer nearby who do tend to have a few offers on and are pretty good.
HR Owen is further away but not cheap.
Bill McGrath has been mentioned a number of people use them and say they are very good, again on the more expensive side.
Grimaldi has a decent following on here.
There's also Auto Revive in Uxbridge who I used recently, DK Engineering trained but much better priced.

Hope that helps!
