In the manual its described as a "Shock Absorber Damping Control System"that varies the shock absober settings depending on the selection ( normal or sport) and also depending on how the car is being driven via information provided by Vehicle speed, and vertical and transverse position sensors. I don't think it is "Skyhook" just am early electronic system. I believe that Skyhook was the later system fitted to the 4200 and perhaps on a few year 2002 3200's.

Perhaps someone with a late 3200 can confirm this.

I have a late (2002'02) 3200 and the specification sheet for the car confirms that it has Skyhook. My old 3200 (1999 model) had the Sport button but the traction control/ASR used to cut in quite differently, so I wonder whether although they both had the 'Sport' button, only the later one was Skyhook; the earlier one having a slightly different Sport set-up.

Interesting, were they both manual gearbox cars?

Yup the spec list if it has one showing what comes as standard and what is an option :)

Chap

There were not many options, but still nice to get some as they are effectively "free" on second hand cars.
Vastly more important to buy well, and ignore any "tasty baubles". A decent car might cost you a few grand in the first year just on servicing and the odd fix (assuming you want it all to be right). The "wrong car" could easilt cost almost the purchase price to put right.

Bear this in mind before you start looking at physical cars, as a short list on colour and specification could rule out some superb cars.

Saying that I hung out to find a manual car in black, that also turned out to be an Assetto Corsa. Maybe I got lucky becuase it was 5 years ago, not sure so many fault free cars about. But keep looking, they are still out there.

I never took mine out of sport mode even though I wasn't convinced it make a massive difference...

I agree with keeping it in sport mode whenever you can the ASR cuts the engine out to quickly in normal mode.

I also agree with rs, buy the best you can find, have an independant inspection and then still have £2-3 k put aside because things can still catch you out.

Rex B;88655 I also agree with rs said:
Advice is always to buy the best you can afford......sometimes even a £1K more on a car thats 5/6/7 yrs old will pay dividends.

Yes, you do need a war chest.....................its a high end sports car.....high performance.......things wear out at that mileage/years......to be expected....just try to go in with eyes open and pick as many brains as you can!!!!

I know, i'd be happy with an average miler to be honest as long as it had been maintained properly, no good if the engines been starved of oil regularly due to periods of being stood doing nothing.

Still, resale favours the low mileage minters, there was a late 3200 with less than 20K on it on PH for about a week and its sold now. there are others that have been on there for weeks, one keeps appearing back on there but I figure if you can't be arsed to put some pathclear down you probably can;t be arsed to service your car properly...

IF this belongs to someone on here, get your garden sorted out, it's probably what's putting people off buying your car :p

If it were me selling my Maserati (if I were lucky enough to own one) I'd be asking my next door neighbour if I could borrow her house for a photo shoot :D

Hasrsh? but most true.

Never get a second chance to make a first impression. The most fair minded people included.
The brain has already scanned and sized up any given situation before we've even noticed. Selling my car? (that I love and will liekly never sell) I would use some of my sunny day pictures, taken at nice locations. Then add detailed shots after a good vacuum and polish. Would you turn up for an interview in your gardening clothes and slippers?
