Hi Folk, probably a daft question, but I'm trying to find the VIN stamped on the chassis.
I've found the wee flap under the mat and it indeed has some of the numbers, but the rest are covered up under the sound insulation which is stuck down hard.
In fact, the flap only uncovers the first section of the VIN and seems to be a deliberate design (flaw!)
Will I need to chisel the sound insulation off, which looks like a real pig of a job?
The reason for this, is that it seems my car was registered from day one with the wrong VIN and is in fact missing a zero. Easy mistake but annoying as its been flagged up on HPI.
I know the car is fine as I have plenty of other evidence of the correct VIN from dealer invoices etc.
The correct VIN is on the plate under the bonnet but I suspect this will not be sufficient for DVLA.
Thanks
G
