Hi Contigo,

Thanks very much for that Information.

Would you be able to send me a URL Address for that part at that Price? Mine keeps coming up with 97 pound for that part and can't see anyway around it.

Cheers

You are right mate, that price was for a reconditioned/used one from a year or so ago. I did try looking through some threads for an alternative Alfa part number but drew a blank.

All good,

I thought I must have had one too many Whisky's when I couldn't find it, didn't know what was going on.

Seems that I will have to order the 97 pound one I think, I can't see much that I can do to get around it

Cheers

I actually got my replacement sensor from States a year or so ago - it is the same Maserati reference as one of the earlier V6 models.

There is one for £89 on Ebay at the moment.

For 89 Pound I think i will just get the one from Eurospares, I ned a few other bits and bobs also….so might just have to do it.

You could ask such as David Askew, see if he has a good working used one..??

I am pretty hesitant to change it over with a second hand one, it's an annoying way to be, but most of the time ends up costing more in the long run.

I'll have a look into this today at work, I don't think I have too much on….I hope, thanks for the insiders tip!

They probably use the same thing on Alfa's and Ferrari too..!!

I'll have a look at that today also, may be able to track something down on the Bosch website somewhere and go that way. If I do, does anyone else want one while I order it, or are you guys happy for me just to post the link and part number on here?

I wouldn't go the 2nd hand route either. They only seem to last 2-3 years before getting temperamental again.

Does anyone know what voltage range the ECU looks for re the oil pressure? Might look into sourcing something with no moving parts.

the workshop manual gives the details of the air temp and water temp sensors but nothing on the electrical output from the oil pressure. o i would have to measure it, and this will have to wait until its working again!

Thanks, but, I could do that with mine, but that will just give me working range. Although the gauge reads 5 Bar range, pressure can be up around 7 Bar. Need to know input range of the ECU and corresponding voltage.

Hey guys,

tried Dick Lovett, they quoted me 115 Pound for a Oil Sensor plus 35 Pound postage to Australia. Euro Spares have the same part for 96 pound….Just passing on the heads up. Still haven't found a aftermarket sensor.

Wow that's quite a bit more, Lovett's are usually competitive, are you sure the Eurospares price had the VAT included (tax)..??
