3200 Battery reset???

Hi All

I have been away with work and have not used the 3200 for weeks now, as she has been tucked up with her cover on in the garage for weeks. I came to start her up yesterday and the battery was very low on power, so I decided to fit the battery conditioner I have had for ages, but not got round to fitting, to top it up. Should have done it weeks ago really.

Anyway I disconnected the battery momentarily by accident and when I reconnected and then fired up the car this morning, which she started on the button, the engine light came on.

Now as this was not showing before I fiddled with the battery and fitted the conditioner I am guessing it is the battery disconnecting causing the issue? Anyone had this before? Is there a reset action I can perform to sort this, as the car is drving like a dream.

Thanks for any advice on this

Hi Lee,
Mine spends a lot of time stored up whilst I work away. I always disconnect the battery rather than have it run flat due to the alarm etc. Whenever I've reconnected it I've had no warning lights, just the fact that the sidelights always come on as soon as I connect the battery. Very odd. Sorry I've been no help. Maybe disconnect the battery when it's charged up and leave it 10 mins or so. Then connect it up and see if that resets it. Italian electrics.......you've got to love them!
Cheers Neil

It's probably something to do with the battery being low the being charged. I would simply turn it off overnight then back on again, just a minor glitch for sure.

Failing that it sounds like you have dislodged something around the battery. You can get the engine light read at any local garage or you can buy one of these code readers off EBay.
