It's also a CAT C. There was discussion about it when it was on coparts as a damaged repairable.

It's a real shame that as these 3200, and in the near future the 4200, age and become more afordable the liklyhood of some event taking place is much more likley.

Quite a few will be re-possessed under failed HP agreements, others will have a prang...as a result the care and devotion as well as may hard earned ££££££££££ will vanish into history.

No doubt cars such as this were loved and cared for, but sadly data protection prevents some garrages for re-issuing history, despite the law being there to protect people not cars!...

We also frown on damaged repaired ones, yet so many historic cars have been brought back to life using far more new metal that some of our CAT D-C cars, but often there is seen to be an issue with them.

If new owners look at what is on offer, and sellers are honest about whats been done then this can only help to keep older cars alive. I'm not talking about bodge ones that have no right to be sold to anyone, but we all know that as part are so £££ you can wright-off a 3200 for a new bumper and bonnet now!

I 'm not avocaing poor servicing too..I'm a firm belver in annual and milage services.

Right sentimental rant over...why has he painted the grill and surround black! such poor taste of somones favoured chariot times gone by.

Yes saw that...they say its not black but anthracite...same as the wheels......Also doesn't the colour look like the wrong red when the light shines on it....As you say its a shame...and as the AC is getting rare its a crying shame.

All AC came with anthracite wheels Ghosty...they made them in red, silver and black....You could have silver if you asked for them but most are anthracite. I think red with silver makes the red look flat...Anthracite or black just makes it look right..Buut then thats just my opinion.

Andy, Have you contacted the seller? Must be worth some digging around? It's a Maserati AC in your colour! Nothing ventured and all that... :)

Suppose its worth a shout......7k on a GTV with upgrades or a 156 GTA or a GT.....3200 AC does appeal...But that history thing..The car would have to be dirt cheap and at 11995 can not see them getting close to what I would apy.

Well guys for what its worth i bought a car that had been written off previously and the repairs are excellent, the car also has a full professional re-spray, and so it looks like new, so its probably generally in better condition than a car that had not had a bump, and it looks like it pretty much had front and rear bumper replaced. The steel work is all original.

it is now being subjected to much TLC and i dare say i will not get much for it if i sold it because of the stigma associated with accident damaged cars.

I plan to keep it as long as possible as its a fantacstic car, so not too worried about it.

But i am delighted with my car!!! it can happen gentlemen.

Nice one Davy, Glad to hear you're enjoying your car without regard to it's value as a damage-repaired were you to sell it. As long as the repair has been carried out to the highest standard and is fully documented, and the car is otherwise in fine fettle, then take a look! You could be getting yourself a sorted car at a bargain price. I guess it's true to say that you're the exception to the general rule, but doing the research is part of the fun of buying a car, and if you're not entirely convinced, you can always walk away. Good to hear you took the chance and have been rewarded for it.

I am going to second that, mine was in a bump, offside front and has been reapired to a high standard, well all the important stuff is spot on just some cosmetics to solve, i spotted it the day i went to see the car, i can spot these things from a mile off so good reason to haggle and drove off in a bargain and been happy with it since.

The engine going pop was a totally unconnected reason, but i bought the car as a project/restoration job so it was always planned to strip it all down and re build anyhow so not really bothered.

Phil (off to shot blast cam covers now :) )

You usually find that a good sray shop can do a better job than the factory finish....
