Went out yesterday and did 15 mile ride around Hampstead (plenty of hills). I can't say that climbing hills is any easier on the puff than a cheap bike but it is definetley more comfortable. Carbon fibre frames make a big difference to comfort.
Anyone want to join me for a sunday ride are more than welcome and yes Dem if you ever want to go out for a ride thats cool.
I plan doing 15/20miles 3 times a week with perhaps a 40/50 mile ride on Sundays. This I am hoping will be my routine through the winter weather permitting. In the spring and summer months I want to double that per week.
I plan to do the ride Lands End to John O'Groats next September and to raise some serious money in the names of the two close friends I have recently lost, one to palmanory fibrosis and the other to a brain tumour.
Riding a bike may not be quite like driving a supercar but it is extremely relaxing if you can find a good route away from traffic. I have to say I am terrified cycling around London or for that matter on any A roads, but find a good circuit in the country and there is nothing to beat it.
I was sorely tempted to buy the Maserati bike but good sense prevailed. One has to consider how good the bike really is and how much it is worth. I am sure a huge chunk of change would be to have the bike branded Maserati and as beautiful as the bike maybe it is still just a bicycle.
