2010 QP - Bose Amp Repair/Replacement?

My QP GT S is in need of a replacement Bose amplifier, or an amp repair... I've got no sound coming from the speakers, although the head unit works and shows that music is 'playing' on the screen. With electrical probes inserted into the multiplug connectors in the boot, we can bypass the amp and produce sound from one of the rear speakers... and given the amp is receiving voltage and the wake-up signal then it's fair to conclude the amp is the suspect.

I've found a couple of other threads relating to the ASK/Auditorium amp in GranSports being repaired, replaced or even bypassed... has anyone had experience on a facelift QP with Bose amp?

There was a thread on here about something similar. It may not be a broken amp per se but compromised soldering. It may be repairable. I wish I could find the thread…

Cheers @mowlas , we're fairly confident that the amp is the suspect. At the moment I've got a few options given I can't find a working, used replacement (and a brand-new replacement is around a grand + VAT):

  1. Repair via Car Audio Medics (https://www.car-audiomedics.co.uk/), £350 + VAT, 1-2 week turnaround and 12 months warranty
  2. Repair via Amp Performance (https://www.amp-performance.de/en/Maserati-Bose-Amplifier.html), 214 Euros + shipping, 2-week turnaround and 24 months warranty... it seems amp repairs is their bread and butter and my amp (235141) is called out as a unit they have experience with

Thanks for the update and good luck with this. It’s a bit of a dilemma which of the two routes to go down! The UK one seems dearer. The German one involves shipping an electrical part through mail.

If you don’t have to pay for the labour of removing the amp, then the latter might be the most cost effective, though make sure the shipping arrangement won’t entail paying import/export/additional handling costs!

Do let us know how you get on.

I might have narrowed it down... ze Germans have said they only offer this service inside the EU. Sigh.

I'm pleased to report that my recently repaired/refurbished amp is working perfectly... the service and turnaround from these people was amazing. It was repaired on the same day it was received (Thursday), shipped out on Friday and delivered to my garage on Monday... highly recommended, thank you @Goldsax for the suggestion.

Out of interest, did they mention what fault they found? So glad this is now fixed!

AV and I suspect that it's a known defective component that probably costs them pence in parts to change... I imagine telling us what that component is would be a bit like giving away the ingredients to their secret sauce!
