Hi from Peterborough. Just wondering if someone has any advice regarding unusual Head Unit Problem?

Got a very strange head unit problem.

If you get in the car you can turn radio / cd on and works fine (its bose system).
As soon as you turn the engine on the sound disappears (it is actually still there but you have to have full volume to barely hear it)???

Just wondered if anyone has had the same issue?

Also have parking sensor fault, and I right in thinking Volvo sensor part #30765108 fits for a fraction of the cost?

You don’t happen to also own a Range Rover and live near the Fletton Parkway?
(Can’t help with your problem, my apologies)

When you select 'settings', under 'sound' (I believe), you can set the initial volume the infotainment starts up at when the engine starts. It may be that this is set really low and needs to be adjusted up.

Yeah, its not that. Its some stupid thing as yesterday it was working fine in the morning and then decided to play up again in the afternoon.

They are definitely female these cars.

That’s tremendously vexing.

Beyond my knowledge as to likely causes but would be good to narrow down the circumstances under which it happens before before you go an expert (independent or dealer).

From what you’ve shared so far, it seems independent of input source (radio, cd, cd changer) and independent of whether the engine is switched on and off? Sounds so far like it’s an output problem when may point to an amplifier issue. The variability may come from dodgy connection into or out of the amp or weaknened solder connection within the amp.
