If you download music do you get all the artist / song details?

Only if you input them youself assuming that the system is the same as my 08 car. I tend to put the artist name in but it takes too long to name all the tracks. It takes about 30 mins to upload one album as well. The sounds pretty good afterwards (mine's got the Bose upgrade) but the exhaust noise is generally better!

Hi Adam, I'm based in the north east.

So things have moved on today and I've placed a deposit to secure the car. I'm heading to view it on Friday. Sad I know but from research, a lot of it on here, id made myself a little wish list on my phone notes. This car has everything I wanted minus the Skyhook. It just jumped out at me.

I currently drive a BMW E92 M3 which I bought new over 5 years ago. Love the car. But I've been obsessed with the GT for a long time now so I'm hoping it stirs my soul.

Well done! Mine stirs all parts of me. Love it and I hope you feel the same with yours.

You can control an iPod plugged into the glovebox sockets? They Holy Grail! Do you know if it's a special cable or a special set of connectors? I have a USB for charging and the aux for outputting the music.

If only! I've put in a USB stick and it picks up about 20 songs across 3 albums - not whole albums, and not the first 20 songs, not... entirely random and however much I've tried thus far it only wants to play those 20 songs. I've had enough of 7 songs from James Blunt's latest, frankly!

I would hope that the Maser would be smart enough to spit the stick back out if it had James Blunt on it.

I use Loudlink in My QP replacing the CD changer - works a treat with Blue tooth although son uses it to play Sabotan rather loudly through it. Never had such a good sounding system is a car before. Might be worth enquiring if Loudlink works/can be adapted for GTs.

I have a USB stick with albums on it for another car and it just lists all tracks in alpha order when I put it in the Maser irrespective of artist.

I have loaded CDs onto the hard drive and they work fine - newer ones automatically load artist/album/track info. whereas for older CDs I just give the file an album name.

Just ordered the connector as per MAF's eBay link above. The seller said it shows the tracks etc on the screen and allows control of the iPod from the car audio controls. It looks remarkably identical to the connector I already have which doesn't do that, but I'll try it and see. If it doesn't work he can have it back.

Thanks MAF!

I have a iPod nano 6th gen and I can see tracks and control it from the car audio controls using the maserati connector.

I'm using a beat-up old old 4th or 5th gen contraption. I have a 6th gen which I use day to day - I'll try various combinations of iPod and cable and see what works. It hadn't occurred to me that older iPods may be less able to play nicely with the car audio system.

I currently have one of these 'Y' cables for use in my M3. I'm viewing the car today so I'll try it along with my iPod.

if you already have one of the iPod cables I use a bluetooth adapter to stream music from my iPhone without the need for it to be connected and stuck in the glovebox. It works perfectly and automatically connects when you get in the car. I have all my music as Spotify playlists and it also works with the tomtom/ google maps on the iPhone which unlike the satnav actually accepts postcodes!

Ive given up on my USB socket its supposed to accept a USB stick to upload albums to the hard disc, I just open the window and listen to the exhaust or plug in my iPhone through standard audio jack and play tracks on spotify.

This just arrived. £9.95 off eBay. Looks very similar to the one I already have but no idea if the innards are the same. On a Ghibli it allows the iPod to be controlled using the car audio controls. On a GTS, who knows. Will try it soon and update.
