A good chance to buy one of these has hit me so have joined the forum :)
I've been tempted many times but have finally decided to take the plunge.
In the Highlands but spend significant time in Worcestershire.

A couple of queries on the ICE, please.
Does the CD player play recordable audio CDs or MP3 files on CD?
Is there an Aux or USB facility?

And on servicing.
Highlands or more likely Worcestershire indie recommendations?

welcome. Did you bag the bargain at Giallo? sounds like you are "ready to buy". None of the options shook influence your purchase. The music comes out of the four pipes outside. The rest of the time I just enjoy the double-glazed quiet

CD player - doesn't play mp3 for me.
Aux / USB dangling in the glove box but not much use.
My car had parrot which works just fine for me. Phone calls and streaming from iPhone. Better option is loud link offered on this forum.

Servicing - not sure about either location.

For servicing in Worcestershire you have.
Migilore
The Super Car Rooms
Both well known and well respected.

Thanks rs & phil.
By "dangly stuff" is that hacking into the ICE wiring?
I have done some forum searching but haven't come across that perfect-already-described answer :)

I'll make a call or two to those chaps - car is sold with "service due" due to time not the 1000 only miles since the last one!
Also as my drive is opposite a sea loch I'm planning to get at least the subframe corrosion proofed.

Thanks Zep.
Some hints but...
...Apple & Bose applicable, I'm an oranges man (i.e. Android 'phone) and AFAIK the intended car has "standard" 6disc system. I'll check with the seller.
The loudlink (excellent search term, most other audio related strings return far too much noise and any signal is lost within) looks a ready fit if a mite price-punchy. Gets what you pay for etc.

Did you buy the lovely low mileage Verde one in Yorkshire?

You might have to look past the Apple bit for the answer you seek. The "iPod Integration" is a cable that plugs into a USB and 3.5mm jack. The USB to iPod is for charging, the jack is for music. There are devices that adapt an iPod connection to bluetooth, Tune2air, Bovvee. These are not Apple centric, and will stream from another type of phone. Depending on the year and options (as detailed in the "Advanced Electronics" document) your OEM kit may, or may not, have iPod integration. If you have, you will be able to stream.

A tip for searching. If you tick the box "Search Titles Only" you might lose some of the noise. Otherwise you can search the forum using google.

Just replace your CD changer with the loudlink

Thanks all for the copious conversation :)
The ICE is Bose.
It's good to know there are choices.

@Nikko - yes 'tis that'un. The seller is a gent, utterly transparent, enthusiastic & helpful. Also has two TVRs (for his sins!).

Welcome jet_noise. Might one be a crab by any chance?
If not. Apologies. Making mind boggling leaps of logic
based on tea leaves, is ingrained.
Hence Maserati and Alfa ownership.

No worries, I can see how my sobriquet may mislead :)
Mr Noise would have been my globe-striding-colossus in-band alter ego.
Should I ever have had the fortune to be in such a band :D
The dreams of youth. Remember those?

Alas I do. In particular, one dream with Edwina Currie. A bath full of deviled eggs and a drain snake.
The other 'dreams' are too horrible to mention on a public forum, with so many impressionable
members who are likely to copy cat.

:oops::D
That's a fairly niche market for copies.

Welcome jet noise.
As I read it, you're starting to feel at home already.
Please note that the in car entertainment in mine is entirely under the bonnet and makes the finest music. It has a pretty loud link to those pipes at the back of the car. I recommend you to check the car you buy has a similar set up.
Quite honestly, Android and the like fade into insignificance.

I get that, one of the car's attractions, (punnage) comes as standard.
However (or but, you knew there'd be one or both of those) several times a year I do the 535 miles-in-a-day journey down south. And there are very few tunnels in it ;) I really need a bit of aural variation and diversion in that time. The A9 in particular is 100miles or so of average-speed-limited oft only two lane road. Good mountains though :)
