So it arrives tomorrow. 1st Granturismo Sport at Graypaul Edinburgh. Starting to get a little bit excited by the prospect, and the weather is supposed to be sunny as well.

That's going to be a big grin, hope you have been doing the jaw exercises to cope with the fixed smile from ear to ear!

Enjoy it, we know you will!!!

Congratulations Kmeand and enjoy. You may need to keep a spanner in the glove box for when you need to wrench that permanent smile off your face. ;)

Granturismo Sport first thoughts:

Sorry this took so long - driven 170 miles in first three days.

Car arrived at house on schedule, quickly taken into driveway.

First impression:

The noise, even without the Sport button, is outstanding - neighbours might not be the happiest (but there are 3 Granturismo S and an MC Stradale within 600 yards of me so I guess they will be getting used to it.)

The interior of the car is a class above the old one I thought about getting - very glad I waited - the seats are absolutely fabulous.

I was worried about the yellow stitching but I am VERY happy with it - a lighter yellow than the callipers.

New wheels look fabulous - glad I went for them rather than the Neptune, which I love - but wanted to go forthe newest ones for the Sport. Brakes are very harsh at the moment but I am told they will settle down.

Carbon steering wheel with carbon interior pack works very well - I didn't realise the carbon also went along the top edge of the door (butting up against the window), which gives a great look when outside.

The new (standard) long paddles are good too - although the size means you cannot actually see the wiper and indicator stalks so you cannot tell what setting the wipers are on (it rains here a lot).

The ride is a lot better than I thought - better than my X5 or RR tbh. The new dark window surround and darkened rear and front lights (I went for the dark look headlights) make the car look seriously angry

As I only test drove the GT S rather than owned one I cannot compare them but suffice to say I do have a grin, ear to ear, everytime I drive it, and yes the curtains did twitch a little. THe car does, in my limited comparative opinion, seems tighter and it certainly looks angrier. I was concerned that the new nose did not suit it, but I can assure you it does (so long as you de-chrome it) - with the chrome I think the old nose suits it better.

Been through the tunnel four times, and found that the underground car park at the supermarket is a better place to be than I ever realised.

Some pictures attached as I see that not many pics of the new Sport seem to be out there, other than marketing ones.

Very happy to be part of the Maserati family.

Fabulous! Good choices. I like the seats, the yellow stitching and the carbon trim on the steering wheel. But most of all I like those wheels. Tempted to get mine repainted black... You've got me thinking now.

Enjoy!
